Today I made a September newsletter. It should be helpful to share information with my parents this year. They will be better informed. I have never done a blog before. We had them as newletters from our principal last year. Our teachers have been very helpful in answering our questions.

I plan to use the power point presentation to teach the third grade standard about Sioux Falls. My power point about the classroom ideas will help make parents more aware of how to help their child.

I think I would like to use a blog for individual refelections and for students to give summaries of units for review. This could possibly work for third graders.

The wiki seems like it would work better for group projects in middle school and beyond. Students are going to need to learn how to work together in groups and share their ideas.

Technology

Technology can be used to support student learning by presenting information in a new colorful format. Students realize they must be focused on the information presented. They can also take notes to learn the important information more quickly. The blog can be used to assess individual knowledge and to write information as a summary. The students can reflect on how the learned information can be applied to real world situations.
