Eddy Elementary School

Brewster, MA

News Release: January 10 , 2006

During the month of November, each fifth grade class at the Eddy Elementary School held class elections to select two representatives and alternates to serve on the Eddy Grade 5 Student Council. Student Council members are Melissa Crossman, Rebecca Stevens, Emily Blanchard, Molly Drake, Allyanna Smith, Adam Huber, John Steinmetz, Trevor Deegan, Nick Robinson, and Marjorie O’Reilly. Alternate members, who take the place of a representative who is unable to participate, are Tyler Cronin, Hayley Sanders, Dylan McGee, Ethan McCullough, Matt DiCenso, and Meghan Carr. Congratulations to all!

The Eddy Grade 5 Student Council meets with the principal to plan and support a number of activities at the school and beyond. When “special persons” visited the school on November 22, the student council members escorted hundreds of individuals to classrooms around the school. Currently the group is working on plans to make the Brewster Night at a Nauset High School Boys Basketball game a rousing time for all Brewster elementary students who attend the home game on February 10th at 6:30. The students will be handing out Nauset #1 hands and Nauset “Ns” to stick on cheeks. Among the other projects which they will be planning will be a special year-end spring social. The students are learning how to work together as a team and use their collective creative abilities to organize and run activities that enhance the experiences of everyone in the Eddy Community.
