Scrapbook of Thanks
Walnut Hills Elementary
Third Grade
Mrs. Sander
To celebrate the thankfulness of the holiday season, I read the book The Most Thankful Thing, by Lisa McCourt to my class. This story is based around a child’s curiosity of her mother’s most thankful thing in life. The mother shares her scrapbook of life experiences with her daughter, which eventually reveals her most thankful thing.
My students really enjoyed this story, as it truly reflects the thankfulness and love for family. After reading this story my students created their own Scrapbook of Thanks. My students were able to reflect on their own lives and personalize the meaning of thanks in a very creative and meaningful activity. I am very proud of my students for the hard work they displayed during the creation of their scrapbooks. Each scrapbook turned out beautiful and will be great to share for years to come.
