At SIB we sort our garbage into 4 different containers.  They are called the "Containers" bin, the "Compost" bin, the "Paper" bin and the garbage bin.  We do this sorting because in our waste audit we found out that people were not sorting our waste properly, and too much was going to the landfill.  We want to be responsible and take care of our Earth by recycling, reusing scrap paper, and returning compost back to the Earth.  Watch this slide show to see how it all works at our school.

The Waste Audit 

At S.I.B. we had to collect and sort all of the garbage in the school. We needed to find out how we were doing and to improve sorting garbage so that we can keep our Earth clean.

In the recycling bags there we found chocolate milk still in the milk containers. We need to pour the milk in the sink first.

We need to put our milk containers in the

garbage not in the recycling bin. We also found wrappers still on the top of the containers we need to take off the wrappers on the containers then put the wrappers in the garbage and then put the containers in the recycling bin.
