Dear Parents/ Whanau/ Caregivers Tënä koutou katoa
Let me introduce myself. My name is Iris Williams and students call me Whaea Iris. The word Whaea can mean mother and aunty however, in this setting it translates as the person in authority.
I am excited about teaching your child and it is my intention to bring out the best in that person. I am an experienced teacher, having previously taught at Otonga School for nine years and thoroughly enjoying it there. I am now honoured to be here at Lynmore in a leadership role of the Year 4 team, and the Mäori unit.
I love helping children realise their potential and will facilitate their journey to reach it. Personally, I set goals and work toward them and I will encourage my class to do the same. My strengths are Maori, Literacy, Numeracy and ICT using computers to enhance thinking. In fact, I enjoy all the components teaching and learning has to offer.
I look forward to meeting you at some stage of the year and would like you to know that where your child is concerned, all matters are important. If you would like to discuss your child with me, please do not hesitate to contact me to make an appointment.
Nö reira, kia pai tou tau tamariki mä
Wishing your child a great year Kind Regards Iris Williams
