Did you know that Gordon Korman wasn't much older than you when he began his writing career?

He wrote his first book, THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL, when he was in 7th grade. It was published when he was in 9th grade.

Click on the link at the left to go to the official Gordon Korman website. There is a lot to learn about this popular Canadian author.

Every week you will respond to the question of the week and other students’ comments.

The culminating project will be presentations on the novels using Video Conferencing.

Hi guys

Hope you all have an excellent day off tomorrow! Think of me as I go to school while you get to laze around!!

Your homework is to spend one hour (YES I mean one whole hour!!) editing your story. These are the criteria I would like you to focus on:

1) Check to see if you have started a new paragraph EVERY time a new speaker talks

2}Check to make sure that you used a capital letter to start every quote.

3) Check to see that you specifically used a speaker's name with EVERY quote to identify who is speaking.

4) NOw make sure that you are developing your character by what they say...make your character come alive by what they say! (Get rid of the "Hi, how are you?" type of quotes.

Have a great day off you little brats=http://

Love Mrs. Hayes
