A New Adventure

I have been a personal blogger for more than four years. I used to wish that I could let my students blog, as I find it an entertaining - and sometimes hilarious - way to express myself. I was so terribly excited when I learned about this site! Hooray!
For years I have worked with an email program with similar teacher-controls, but too often their email buddies never replied. This does not require a response, but rather allows them to say what they want - with guidance.
I am terribly excited about this new adventure.

The kids all seem excited to be blogging, but they cannot seem to settle themselves on what it is they want to blog about. It is a bit frustrating for me, but I am telling myself it is early days, and they will settle in. I refuse to dampen their enthusiasm.

1. I am eager for it to be 3:30.
2. I am glad to see the kids eager to blog.
3. I like how eagerly they await their blog times.
Eagerness is a good thing. yes indeed.

Change Is As Good As A Rest

I changed the name of our blog space. I guess I feel like 1. I am asking myself "What WAS that?" a lot, and 2. Some of the students are being doobers. This is a term my lone grandchild accidentally coined, and I like it. It is an affectionate term for a goofball. It is fitting right now, for some of the kids are goofing off.

The school year is starting that downward descent to the end of June. I already have report cards coming up, as well as a Heritage fair to plan for. After that, Easter, then the short month of Mayjune, that mystical melding of two months into one, where there are not enough hours in the day.
I should stop and enjoy this time, when the class size is down, most kids are working well, and things are calm. Sadly, I have, as always, a long list of things that supposedly need my attention RIGHT NOW! Eeek.

I am a mom, a (young) grandma, and a middle years teacher ... of course I am mean. Or so I like to tell the kids.
