Ag Day

Article posted October 16, 2007 at 10:58 AM GMT0 • Reads 1169

On Thursday the 18th of October, we had our Agricultural day and Young Farmers competition which was extremely fun!

Many of the children brought their calves, lambs and goats to school and showed us their skills in the different Ag day events. It was really neat for a city slicker like me to see!

The children also set up their MYOB(Mind Your Own Business)stalls which the children sold items for their camp fundraising. Some children made sure that everyone was well fed by producing and selling hot dogs and hamburgers. Yum!

The Young Farmer's competition was loads of fun where the children worked in groups of different ages to carry out about 15 different activities such as Waterworks and Tired.

In addition to all these events the children created vegetable novelty sculptures, decorated cakes, beautiful button holes and some fantastic fence posts. Well done Totara!

What a great day!

Wowee. Terrific Totara has four fabulous blogging teachers. Hanna, Lucy, Kane H and Joshua have all had special lessons in blogging and are now the class blogging experts. They have already started practicing. Check out their blog pages by clicking on their names at the right hand side of this page.

Talysha and Faigyn were their first students and have learnt from Lucy and Hanna. Talysha and Faigyn agree that blogging is such cool fun. They know they have had great teachers too.

Happy blogging Totara...

Overnight Camp

Article posted March 9, 2010 at 03:11 AM GMT0 • Reads 912

We have begun 2010 with a rush of activities - the first being our Overnight Camp. The whole school stayed the night in tents and we had an awesome time getting to know the new students in each class. The farm walk really puffed everyone out and all were rewarded with a cool refreshing swim. Luckily we didn't get rained out this year and everyone went home on Saturday morning happy but tired!!
