Making the Monkey

Article posted January 10, 2008 at 07:35 PM GMT0 • Reads 146

I didn't take the Scratch tutorial.

When we created the monkey in Scratch I liked doing it that way because it is more interesting than Logo Turtle. I felt successful when the game was finished because it worked and I could play it.

When you teach Scratch to the sixth grade you should continue to do step by step because it is easy to follow. I don't have any new ideas.

Three things I can do in Scratch are change my stage and sprites, make my sprite act out an action and create original sounds.

I think others would enjoy making their own sounds, creating an original game, and making sprites.

I wish I could make an original game alone.

Review about the boy with twelve toes

Article posted January 17, 2008 at 07:40 PM GMT0 • Reads 109

1. This story was not very interesting to me and the plot didn't have much direction so if I were the king (or an alien) I do not think I would let this storyteller live.

2. The plot was very original but didn't go into a lot of detail. It also switched a lot between the taking teddy bear, and the twelve toes which confused me a little.

3. There are very good twists in the story. The suspense is there but ends very quickly. More detail would make the tension seem more real.

4. The teddy bear is the most real character to me because of its symbolism and importance. The old woman is also real but the boy did not have enough description.

5. The word choice was very good for sight but more dialog would be useful to really hear these people.

6. This seems to show a very close-minded culture with little tolerance for differences.

7. There wasn't a lot about cultural roles except through the teddy bear so I didn't learn a lot of insights.

8. The dialog could be actually in the story rather than just saying, the dialog happened.

9. This story shows a lot of fantasy and gives the message that differences are good and everyone can overcome them.

10. The plot was very original and that was the best part. There was a lot to write about and this author did a good job pulling the many plot threads together.
