Changing Desks

Article posted October 19, 2007 at 09:10 PM GMT0 • Reads 113

How we change desks in room 12 is that every three weeks we get all of our stuff out of our desks. Then the teacher pulls out a slip. And whoever’s name is pulled gets to sit in that desk.

How I feel about changing desks is that I feel good about it because it is fun to sit by a new person every three weeks. Sometimes I don’t like it when we change desks because sometimes I want to stay in my old desk.

The Talking Pumpkin

Article posted October 31, 2007 at 08:19 PM GMT0 • Reads 155

Once upon a time there was a farmer that sold pumpkins. One day the farmer sold out of pumpkins. There was only one left. He decided to throw it away. But when he went to pick it up it talked! "What do you think you're doing?" it said. The farmer quickly put the pumpkin down in astonishment. "I – I wasn’t doing anything" he said. His voice shaking, He had never been so surprised in his life! The pumpkin then looked at him very confused "Ooh" he said "I thought you were going to throw me away". "Why would you think that" he said. "Well" the pumpkin began "There was a farmer who wanted to throw me away too" "ho dear me" said the farmer. "That is horrible" "yes I know it’s a tragedy" said the pumpkin. "They think I am so scary and I will tell you that it just plan hurts!" he was so angry his eyes were turning red! The farmer then said "Well I will not do that to you" then the pumpkin calmed down. Well if you really think that then I think that you and I will be great friends!"

THE END!!!

Sadie

Article posted November 7, 2007 at 08:22 PM GMT0 • Reads 116

When I had just moved into my new house my old dog Jake died. A few months later we decided to get a new dog. We went to pet finder.com and we typed in dogs. We saw lots of dogs, but at the very end of the page we saw a dog named Sadie. She was so cute.

Then we said we wanted her so my dad called the lady oh was selling her. They talked and talked. Then my dad hung up and he said “We will look at her on Sunday!” We all cheered.

It was Sunday and we were going to go see Sadie. I was so excited We finally got to the place where we were going to see her. A few minutes later a car drove into a parking space. A lady named Lesley came out of the car. After she came out she opened the back door and an 8 month old black lab came out. She was so cute! At first she was a little shy. But then she started to play around. We finally all decided to get her. I was so happy! My dad put Sadie in the crate and my mom signed some papers and Sadie was ours. After that we went to Wall Mart and bought some stuff for the dog and then we went home.

I am most thankful for my worm house.

The reason why I am thankful for it is when it rains my house will keep me dry.

Another thing I am thankful for is my family.

Also I am thankful for my meals.

Finally the last thing I am thankful for is my friends.

How To Make a Cheesy Egg

Article posted November 30, 2007 at 09:13 PM GMT0 • Reads 121

How to Make a Cheesy Egg

First you get a big bagel. Then you cut the bagel in half. Next you toast the bagel. Second you stir an egg in a bowl. After that you put a lid on the bowl and let it cook for one minute in the microwave. Fourth you get the bowl out of the microwave and take the lid off and then put a slice of any cheeses you like on it. Finally you take the melted cheeses and the egg out of the bowl, (I would use a spoon to scoop it out). Lastly you put the egg on the bagel, if you want to you can cut your breakfast in half (that is your sandwich) and that is how you make a Cheesy Egg.

The Best Substitute in the World

Article posted February 28, 2008 at 09:17 PM GMT0 • Reads 177

Once there was a little girl named Emma. She went to the best school she had ever went to in her life. One day their teacher, Mr. Files, had to go to a confronts for two days in Down-Town Seattle. “Children,” He said. “As you all know I will be going away for a few days” He said. “Yahhhhhhhhhh” screeched the children. “So…. I would like you all to say hello to your new teacher for two days. I’d like to introduce you substitute, Miss Maggie.” he said. “Hello children!” She said in a happy voice. “We are going to have so much fun learning.” “Ahwwwwwwwww mannnnnnnnnnn” said the children. After the teacher left, she said “Instead of learning lets do art and eat candy and ice cream all day!” she said. So the children did what she said, and they knew that they had the best substitute in the would!

If I Had One More Day

Feb. 29, 2008

If I had an extra day and I could spend it the way I wanted, I would in the morning go to a really rich person and beg him for all his money and when he finally gave it to me then I would go to the mall and buy everything in it and then I would buy the store.

In the afternoon, I would take the rest of my money and I would build a beach resort and when it was finished, I would swim in the hot tub and the ocean.

In the evening I wouldgo out to a really fancy dinner place and order the waiter to build me a play ground and then order a big dinner and then I would eat it all.

GOOD LUCK and BAD LUCK

GOOD LUCK and BAD LUCK

Yes I do believe in good and bad luck. Because I have had things that are happening to me. I had bad luck and good luck in the past two days.

THE STORY of me and THE GOOD and BAD LUCK

One day, I said that I wanted to go to Sea Fair because it sounded fun because I was going to meet my aunt and cousin there. But it was not. First the pirates were taking too long to get on land, and I had no fun and we couldn’t find my aunt and cousin. So that is my bad luck story. But to cheer you up I am going to write you a good luck story about me! One summer day my dad said we were going on a trip to P.A and it was fun because we got to fly on a plane and that is so much fun. It was also fun because I got to see my older cousin Serina.

THE WASL

Article posted April 18, 2008 at 10:20 PM GMT0 • Reads 146

THE WASL

By Emily

I thought the WASL was a little hard, but somewhat easy. Why the readying WASL was hard was because the stories were long and had difficult words in them. Why the WASL was easy was the questions. They weren’t hard that much.

We also had to use a No. 2 pencil. No mechanical pens or pencils. There was a sign on the door that said GO AWAY! STOP WE ARE TESTING! It was fun when we got to have snack. Today we had crackers with cheese.

On the third day of the WASL we started math. I thought that both the Reading WASL and the Math one was easy. We got to have Ritz Bits with peanut butter in-between. But I didn’t eat all of them because I didn’t have a snack for Art Wizards. So I only ate two.

On the fourth day of the WASL we had a different sign up and this one said

NO MECHANICAL

NO PENS

ONLY NO.2 PENCILS

Today was the 4th day of the WASL. We had Doritos for snack. Tomorrow we can’t use calculators but I’m sure I won’t need one because the first two days I didn’t even touch my calculator because it was so easy!

We finished! Today we finished the WASL. It was so easy. But it was a little longer than the first two tests. And guess what, I didn’t use my calculator.

EARTH DAY

Article posted April 22, 2008 at 09:03 PM GMT0 • Reads 183

EARTH DAY

On Earth Day we decorate grocery bags that go to Safe way to remind people when Earth Day is and why we celebrate it. On Earth Day I like to go out side for a walk with my dad, mom, and sister for a walk to pick up trash that people throw on the ground. We pick up that trash and throw it in garbage bags we carry with us. After our bags are full, we go home and throw it away in our Recycling bin. Then we go in side and wash our hands to keep from getting sick. I think that Earth Day is a time to celebrate why we should take care of the Earth. I always garden on Earth Day. But I don’t just do it on Earth Day I also do it all the time for money. But on Earth Day I do it to help the planet.

So that is what I think about Earth Day.

I am also thinking about after school because I have my math group to go to. But I don’t really want to because I feel like I already had enough math for the day.

Mothers day and stuff

What is on my mind is that I am thinking about Mothers Day. I got my mom a picture frame and I put a picture in it that I made myself. The picture has all kinds of cool shapes and designs on it. I also made her a Happy Mothers Day card. I am going to make her breakfast on Mothers Day morning too.

What my mind is also thinking about is next Sunday. I have my last soccer game of the year. We are not going to have it this Sunday because that day is Mothers day and my soccer couch (also my dad) thinks that we should have a day off that day so we can keep worshiping our moms.

 Dear Mr. Malone

Thank you for letting us use Tami. I got her at my desk after other people got her at their desk. My favorite activity on Tami was the art activity. I am a good artist and I love to do art. I really liked using Tami. It was really fun to use her. I also liked Mark Ahlness , Earth Day, Lincoln, and of course Tami. It was fun using her for the year because it was easer to use all of the XOs that way.

Thanks a whole lot,

What I am looking forward to this summer is my Yellowstone trip. I have never been to Yellowstone before. My dad was a park ranger there at one time. He got to ride in helicopters, put out forest fires. He once saved a boy who was falling off of a cliff in a helicopter. It was pretty cool.

What I am also looking forward to is Kalalock with my friends Evan and Eric.

It will be fun.

My Blog

My Blog

My favorite article on my Blog is the Mothers Day one because my mom is special to me and I love her. My second favorite article is the first one I ever wrote. I can’t remember what the name of it is, but I still like that one. My third favorite article is the WASL one. We had to take the WASL 5 days in a row.

I have five articles on my blog. I have been writing on my blog for a year in Mr. Ahlness’s class in 3rd grade. I plan to keep writing on my blog for the rest of my life, I hope.

I also plan to write over the summer. And if my Mom and Dad let me blog in 4th grade then Mr. Ahlness will give me a new pass word and I can keep Blogging for the rest of my life.

I think that other people should be able to have a blog. They are good for improving reading and writing skills and for those who do not know how to read and write, then having a blog will help them learn.

Yellowstone

Article posted June 18, 2008 at 09:02 PM GMT0 • Reads 203

On Saturday June 21, 2008 my family, grandma and I are going to Yellowstone National Park for nine days. It will be so much fun. My grandma is coming a little bit before we go there because she lives in Ohio so it takes her longer to get here. First we have to drive to Spokane to get our camper. We might leave our car at the RV rental place. We are not sure though. We will drive there for 3 days then we we get there. We will stay in Mammoth Hot Springs. We are going to fish in Yellowstone River. Only kids under 11 years old can use worms. Me and my sister are under 11years old. I am nine years old and my sister is six years old. My dad got us new camping chairs for the trip. He also got us new sleeping bags, he got me a digital camera and my he got my sister real binocalars. I don't know if my dad will buy us fishing poles, or he will just let us use his.

YELLOWSTONE

Article posted July 4, 2008 at 09:48 PM GMT0 • Reads 1150

My trip to Yellowstone was really fun. We had to drive for two days. First we drove to Spokane to get our camper. IT was a four hour drive. Next we drove for eight hours and ended up at a KOA campground. It wasn't that nice of a campground but it would have to do. We stayed there for a night and then we went on driving. Our next stop was Livingstone, Montana. We stayed at a really nice KOA campground there. Then we drove forty miles. Then we got to the arch where you would officially enter Yellowstone National Park. There was a plank that said "For the enjoyment and love of the people." Our first thing that we saw at Yellowstone was Mammoth Hot Springs. There was lots of cool stuff there. Then we went out for ice cream. I got vanilla. Then we went to see Tower Falls,North West Geyser Basin, Old Faithful, Dragons Mouth, ( which is a really cool cave that is filled with scalding hot water. Get this, it makes a noise that sounds like a dragon.) We saw this huge bubbling mud pot that was also very, very hot. We saw little geysers that were different colers. When my mom sister and I were seeing Steam boat Geyser Basin, there was two wild buffalo that came up on the board walk. They were the size of a whale. We were at a dead end so we couldn't go any where. One of the bison looked at us and to our relief they left the board walk. It was scary, cool, exciting and dangerous. They were 10 feet away from us. It was really cool! We went to a gift shop and I got some sweet ear rings and my sister got and stuffed bison. It was fun! I hope that we can got back to Yellowstone some day and see even more then we did now.
