My Dream Trip

Emilee Hernandez I have always wanted to go to Guadalajara in Mexico because most of my family has been to Mexico. I have never been to Mexico. My family told me that it was a lot of fun. I also want to go see a Chivas soccer game. My friend Jenny told me about it. But she doesn't like Chivas she likes Argentina. I want to see my grandma there too because I haven’t seen her in a long time. She does fun stuff. I also want to see my cousins that I have never seen before. My Dad says that they are funny and nice. That’s why I have always wanted to go to Mexico.

The Camera Crew Emilee There was a camera crew filming us using Skype. We were Skyping Celest at her house. We started to work on our math facts in the morning. After that we started to read Maniac Magee with Celest and they were filming us reading it. Then they were interviewing Mr.Crosby, Alex and Jazmin. They also filmed us using our laptops. They filmed us looking at Google Earth and our reactions of seeing it go to The White House and Disneyland and other places. Next they went to Celest’s house and interviewed Celest and filmed her at her house. Then they came back to the classroom and we asked them some questions. After that they went back home.

All Hollows Eve

This Halloween I went trick or treating with my sister, Mom, nephew and my mom’s friend Terry. I was dressed up as Scream. When we were trick or treating I saw this guy with a hockey mask on and he was holding a real ax. He held it up that looked like he was going to hit us but he put it down and walked away. Then we walked by some people and they gave us free glow stick. After that this guy was giving out candy in his garage and this other guy was sitting on a chair and my nephew was standing next to him. Then the guy jumped out and scared my nephew and my nephew all most peed his pants. Every house that my nephew noticed with a light on he dragged me and ran full speed to the house. We got to this one house that looked scary. When my nephew and I went to go ring the door bell these people jumped out and scared us. But when we got to the person that was giving out candy they gave us king sized candy. Then we went home and my sister and I hid somewere and jumped out and scared my nephew. He peed in his pants a little bit. That's what happen on my Halloween.

Skype Emilee One day Mr. Crosby told us that we were going to Skype 8th graders in Silver Springs, Maryland. We Skyped them because they wanted to know how their videos were. I liked some of their videos because they were good. The one that I liked the most was Because Of Checkers because it was funny. When we were Skyping the screen froze. Then we asked them some questions about their videos. After that we had to go so we said “bye”.

I’m Thankful For My Sister Sam Emilee I am thankful for having my twin sister in my life because she almost died when she was born. If she was not here I would be bored with out her because she is fun to be with even though she can’t do stuff like run fast or know how to add or know her multiplication facts. My Mom and Dad told me that she had Cerebral Posy and that she will never be normal like me. Some people make fun of my sister because of the way she is. I wish she was normal so she can play stuff that she could not do before. Sam is always happy. I’m thankful for my sister even the way she is.

My Classroom's Thanksgiving Feast

My Classroom's Thanksgiving Feast Emilee On Tuesday my class had a Thanksgiving feast. When I got to school the turkey was already cooking on the BBQ. Mr. Crosby took our picture by the turkey on the BBQ and a other picture by the other food for the feast. People brought duck, deer, cod, salmon, bread, corn, cranberries, raspberries, blackberries, pumpkin pie, green beans and to drink ginger ale. Before we ate my table did cheers with our ginger ale. I ate turkey, bread, corn and when I tasted the cranberry I did not like it because it was sour. I liked the ginger ale and the corn and bread the most. It was my first time tasting ginger ale so I thought I would not like it but once I tasted it I liked it. My table drank the whole bottle of ginger ale. Then we had pumpkin pie for dessert but I do not like pumpkin pie.

Unexpected Gift Emilee One day we got a phone call from The Make A Wish Foundation and they said they would give my sister one wish. My sister was three yours old at the time and didn’t really know what to ask for so our family started thinking what Samee would like for her wish. We had a hard time coming up with a wish because my sister couldn’t talk very good. My Mom and Dad decided to ask for a play structure so my sister and I could play together. She had a hard time climbing on the stairs to get to the slide at the park so my Mom asked for a slide with a ramp instead of stairs. My sister got a gift that day but I got one too because my gift was playing with my sister. We have pictures of when The Lion Club came to put the slide together. The T.V. station even came over to take some pictures. Every time I see the pictures it reminds me of the gift and the special times with my sister.

They hit another window but it didn’t brake it gust left a dent. It looked like when they threw the rock it broke the globe and the blinds. I hope that his doesn’t happen again. Las Vegas

Las Vegas Emilee My greatest week was when I woke up and my Mom told me that we were going to Las Vegas because my sister had a doctors appointment. When we got to the airport we didn’t have to stand in a long line because my sister was in a wheelchair. While waiting I looked outside and I saw airplanes taking off into the big white puffy clouds. We finally we got on the plane. When we got there we stayed at Circus Circus. The next day we went to M&M World it was cool because they had different colored M&Ms like black, pink, brown, purple, white, silver and alot more other colors. Then we went to Treasure Island to watch the ships fight. When we got back to Circus Circus we went to bed. The next morning my Mom and sister were gone because they went to the doctors appointment. My grandma and I went to the amusement park at Circus Circus. I went on the water ride alot and some other rides too. When my sister got there I took her on some rides. When we woke up in the morning we had to go to the airport to go back to Reno.

Magic Cleats Emilee One day this girl named Angle was walking down an ally and a pair of cleats fail on her. Angle grabbed the cleats and put them on. Then she ran home. When she was running she notice that she ran faster. When she got home she got ready for her soccer game. When she was playing she notice she didn’t just run faster she could pass better, dribble better, kick better and can do alot of stuff better than she usually can. When her game was over someone noticed her. The person how noticed her was a professional soccer player how said she was so good she could play on a professional team. The professional soccer player told her to go practice with her. When they got to the field they practiced together. When they were practicing the coach saw them and asked Angle if she would like to be on the team. The next game she had she was nerves because she was playing with the professional soccer players. They won every game they played. Angel really liked playing with her new team.

Maniac Magee Emilee My class read the book Maniac Magee. This story is about a kid that is an orphan, cares about and does talented things like run on railroad tracks, he can put his hand in a hole that might have a snake or spiders in it, he can run for year with out stopping and he can catch a flying football in one hand and does alot more talented things. He shows people he cares about them because he helped these kids named Russell and Piper go to school because they never go to school, he also taught Grayson how to read, he also helped Mars Bar from attacking the Cobras, he helped the Beal’s clean their house. I learned that If you be nice, respect and help other people they will be nice, respect and help you back.

The Play Emilee When I was in forth grade, my class read the book Super Fudge. The book was like a play. So my teacher deiced to put on a play. I wanted to be Fudge but I didn’t make it. Snow Day Emilee One day my family and I went to California to go sledding.

When we got there my brother and I when to the top of the of the hill and when we got to the top we sled the down the hill and went off a jump and we flew through the cooled air.

When I was done sledding we had a snowball fight my other brother threw a snowball at my face it felt like I had frostbite , after 5 minutes my face was frozen. My brother hit me in the face with a snowball again but that time did not it did not hurt. After that I went sledding with my nephew then I noticed a huge smile that came a crossed his face. Then we went back to Reno.

Editing Emilee The first steps in editing are:

When you are done writing your story read your story carefully to yourself and fix the mistakes that you find, click on spell check and it will show you if any words are wrong.

Read one word at a time, fix mistakes that you find, spell check again, check for any capitalization mistakes, punctuation errors, correct english (does it sound right?).

Print it out, re-read, put your finger on the word when you read, put your finger on first letter in a sentence, put your finger on every word, put your finger on names, double space to make work easier to see, read out loud so your ears “see” it.

It’s important to edit because if you didn’t you would have alot of mistakes.

What If We Couldn’t Blog Anymore? Emilee If our class was not blogging anymore I would be shocked because blogging is fun and it helps with your reading, writing, spelling, english and a lot more. You could learn a lot of new words from blogging. A lot of students improve there grades and do better in school from blogging.

My Championship Game

My Championship Game Emilee One day I was getting ready for my soccer game. It wasn't gust any game it was the championship game. When I got there I had to practice before the game started. When the game started the other had the ball and scored. When we had the ball we almost scored but the other team got the ball and scored. When we had the ball we scored. When the other team got close I stole the ball and passed it but the other team stole the ball and scored. When the game was over the final score was 4-1. We lost but I still had a good time.

My Favorite Book

My Favorite Book Emilee My Favorite book is Go For The Goal. I like it because it teaches you how to become a better soccer player. I also like it because it’s about soccer and my favorite soccer player Mia Hamm.

When Mia was 10 years old she played for an 11 year old boys team. When Mia was 17 she was playing for the number-one college team in America after becoming the youngest player ever to suit up for the U.S. Woman's National team.

Space Emilee Today I Learned about light, Alpha Centauri, the Sun and the sizes of planets and stars.

Did you know that light can travel around the Earth 7 times in 1 second. Light can go 280,000 miles to The Moon in less then 2 seconds. Light is the fastest thing we know.

Alpha Centauri is the closest star to Earth after to the Sun. It would take light 4 years to get to Alpha Centauri.

Did you know the Sun is a star and the sun is really a big ball of burning gas. The Sun is really small compared to the rest of the stars.

We watched a video about planets and stars. It starts with Pluto and ends with VVCephei. VVCephei is the biggest star known. There are a lot of stars and planets in space. VV Cephei makes the Sun look like a peace of dirt.

That is what I learned about space.

Lunar Eclipse Emilee I walked outside to see the Lunar Eclipse but all I could see was black clouds. I got cold so my nephew and I went in and started to play the Nintendo Wii.

I came out 20 minutes later and the clouds turned an orange color. It was the color of my Nintendo DS my brother painted for me.

20 minutes later I went outside and I could not see anything but orange clouds.

A few minutes later I went outside and I still could not see the Eclipse. On our way inside my nephew tripped and his knee started to bleed.

The hole time I could not see the Lunar Eclipse only the clouds.

New York Emilee Today I came into the class room and there was four people sitting at the back table. My partner and I talked to our other partners in New york on Google Docs. My partners name in my class is Gissel and my other partners names in New York are Jazi and Bridgette. Google Docs is cool because I could see my partners in New York typing. We are doing a project together. We are writing a story about The Mysteries of Harris Burdick. The title of the story is called The Third Flood Bedroom. Unexpected Trip

We had just sat down on the school bus that was taking us on our field trip when the bus driver stood up, turned around and in a loud voice said, “ We are not going on the trip you thought we were. Your class has won a trip to a very special place.”

The next thing we knew some kind of gas started to spray from the ceiling and we all fell asleep in our seats. When we woke up hours later we found out we had been taken to Disney Land. When we got out of the bus a strange guy came up to us and asked if we wanted to go on a really fun ride called Splash Mountain. When we were in line waiting for the next boat I got a weird sensation in my stomach. When the next boat came to us we got in. I was about to change my mind but all of a sudden seats closed and it was to late. I was so nervous I felt like barfing. When the ride started my stomach was filling weird. Then all of a sudden I barfed on the person sitting next to me. After I was done barfing my stomach was filling better. When we got off the ride the person sitting next to me was mad. So she chased me all over Disney Land. Then I got tired and stopped running. When the person caught up to me, she barfed on me and said now were even and walked away. I just stood there confused. When I got back to the bus I was still confused. When we all sat down they sprayed that gas on us again and we all fell a sleep. Then we were all back in school.

The Evil Bird Emilee



I was walking home one day when I saw a bird off in the distance flying in my direction. As it got closer I noticed it didn’t look like any bird I had ever seen. It kept flying towards me and to my amazement it zoomed right up to me and landed softly on my shoulder. I wasn't sure what to do. I thought it was cool, but it also made me very nervous. Then it bent its neck to look me straight in the eye and suddenly a laser came out of his eyes and shocked me. The next thing I know I was on the ground screaming and crying because it shocked me in the forehead.

Then I through it to a tree and I ran to my friends house and I said in a tired voice, “A bird is chasing me, and it is outside waiting for me.” My friend wanted to go see if the bird was really chasing me. When I went with my friend to show her the bird it was just acting normal, my friend didn’t believe me.

When my friend left the bird started looking at me. His eyes started to turn dark red. Then I know he was going to chase me. So I quickly started running all around the whole neighborhood. I ran home and slammed the door shut. The bird slammed right into the door and fell to the ground. The I noticed it got weaker when it fell to the ground. So I went outside and grabbed the bird and through him to the ground. I through the bird to the ground a lot of times. Then the bird was died. After it died the body just disappeared.

The Dog

I had nothing to do one day and was really kind of bored, so I went outside and started to walk around the neighborhood. I spotted the friendly dog from next door in his yard playing with a ball. The ball squirted out of his mouth and shot into the street. The dog ran after it just as a car came along and BAM! the car hit the dog. My heart was pounding in my chest as I watched the dog land in the street and the car speed away! I knew I had to something to help! I ran to the dog and saw she was still alive and breathing. Her eyes opened and looked at me. I could tell by the look on her face that she was scared,in pain and wanted help. So I....





went to the owners house and pounded on the door but no one was there. So I called the ambulance and told them that a dog got hit by a car. Then the ambulance came right away. They grabbed the dog and took the dog to the animal hospital and told me she might die. When the owners got home I told them what happened. So they took me with them to go see the dog. The vet told us that the dog has a small chance of living. The vet also said if the dog lives that she might have a hard time walking. The vet also said that the dog is going to stay at the hospital for a week. I was so sad that I visited the the every day after school. Every day I visited the dog she looked better. A week pasted and the dog went home. One day an amazement happened and the dog was waking and running. The owners of the dog put a fence up and let the dog run around with her new ball. I visited the dog every day. The dog looked happier then ever.

Marsopolis

I made my 22 ounce lunch on Wednesday morning. My Mom had a food scale to weigh the lunch with. I had to make a 22 ounce lunch because I was going to Marsopolis.

I had an uncrustable that weighed 2 ounces, a granola bar that weighed 1 ounce, a little orange that was piled that weighed 2 ounces, gold fish that weighed 4 ounces and a bag of chips that weighed 1 ounce. I had a little bottle of Sunny D to drink that weighed 10 or 11 ounces. I had a plastic bag to put all of it in but I don’t think it weighed anything.

When I got to school I weighed my lunch just to make sure it weighed 22 ounces. Then I put my groups lunches and our journals in my backpack. I also put the plastic to build our habitat with in my backpack. Then Mr. Crosby passed out name tags. After that he told us to put our first and last name, team address, school, teacher and jobs on it.

Then we got on the bus. When I was on the bus I sat by my friend Jazmin.

Marsopolis was at the Reno Livestock Event Center. When I got off the bus I went in to the building and saw a lot of kids. I heard this guy named Mr. Bryant say WELCOME TO MARSOPOLIS really loud. I also saw fans by the walls. Then I put my backpack by the wall that was by the table with our school name on it and sat down in the center of Cosmic Village.

Mr. Bryant introduced the schools and teachers. Then he dismissed us a current way.

After he dismissed everybody Karla, Everth and I couldn’t find the tape that said OMC1 on it because people were standing on the tape. When we found it we met the other people in our team.

When we were about to put together our habitat I forgot the plastic in my backpack so I walked over to my backpack to get the plastic. When I got back we put it on the ground and cut it because it was to big. Then we started tapping on the sides of the habitat. When we were done with the sides we put the top of the habitat on.

When we were taping the sides and top on, Everth and a kid named Johnny went into the habitat. While they were in there they held the top of the habitat so we can tape it on. Then we started to connect the fan, but then Johnny and Everth wanted to come out because they could not breath.

So we had to unhook the fan and get them out because the only place for them to get out was were the fan was because there was a hole there big enough for them to get out.

Then we put the fan back in the place were it goes, we had trouble connecting the fan to the habitat.

When it was all up we all got in side. But then somebody unplugged the fan and the habitat started to go down. Then we plugged it back in and got inside again. After that we started to write in our journal. Then we noticed the habitat was falling down and the fan was unplugged again. Someone kept unplugging the fan.

Then we ate outside our habitats.

When we were done eating Mr. Bryant called us to the center of Cosmic Village. He split us up into two Groups, pod 1 and pod 2. My group is in pod 1 so we showed our communication systems to the other people in our group that are in other schools.

Pod 2 was watching rock videos.

I liked one of our groups recreation system. When we were doing our presentation I got nervous but after I said my part of the presentation I felt better. Nobody shared there riddles but us. We made two riddles. “What devil do bad people see when they die on Mars”? “The Dust Devil”. “What kind of hat does Mars were”? “An Ice Cap”. While we were doing our presentations our habitat kept falling down because there was holes in it. So the teachers and parents covered the hole for us. While we were doing our presentations.

After that we switched and pod 2 did there presentations and pod 1 watched rock videos.

When we were done watching rock videos and doing our presentations we all went outside except for the tunnel techs because they had to put all the habitats together so we can do the walk threw.

When we were outside we played telephone, a relay race and duck duck goose. Then we saw the fire department and the ambulance came because a girl got hurt. After that we went inside.

We sat down on the floor and listened to Mr. Bryant. He told us to carefully get in line for the walk threw. But people pushed and shoved to get in line. A bunch of kids cut me in line. The walk threw was long. I liked going threw the tunnel that was connected to it.

Then I went threw the other one. The other one was alot shorter then the first one I went threw. When the walk threw was over everybody sat down.

Then I noticed that our system was ruined and that people stole some stuff from it because we left it in our habitat.

Then the buses started to come and some schools started to leave. After that a kid bumped into another kid and got a big bump on his forehead. Then the ambulance and the fire department came again. Then they put him in one of those chairs that the ambulance has and took him outside and put him in his moms car. After that the bus came.

When we got off the bus we walked to the class room to put our systems away. Then Mr. Crosby said we can go home. I didn’t get home until around 4:30 or 4:45.

My Dog Scotty By: Emilee One day my Mom told me that we were going to get a puppy from our friend because her dog had a litter of puppies.

I asked her what kind of dog is it and she said it was a Scottish Terrier.

Then she told me that we were getting it in a week.

A week past and our friend came to our house with 2 puppies.

She asked what we were going to name him and my sister said Scotty.

Then our friend left with the other puppy.

We took Scotty inside to play but he was to scared to play because his brother was gone and he was all alone.

He was shivering a lot.

Then we put him on the ground and he started to run every where.

But when he ran he was a little off balance.

3 weeks past and he was not scared anymore.

He was also running better. I also taught him how to play soccer.

My dog Scotty is fun to play with.

Lake Tahoe

One night my brother asked my Nephew Emilio, Cousin Kevin and I if we wanted to go to Lake Tahoe with him, my sister in-law Tina and my other Nephew Daniel. So we all said “yes”!!

The next morning Tina woke us all up. She told us to get ready to go. So we got up and got dressed. Then we got in to the car. My brother packed all the stuff in the car. When he was done packing he got in the car and drove to the gas station to get gas.

After that we left the gas station and got on the highway. When we got there we got something that is like a camp suite but it’s not you just spend the day there.

When we were done unpacking all of our stuff my brother started cooking lunch. While we were waiting Emilio, Kevin and I started playing on big rocks. We made up a game, you have to try not to touch the ground. You can only touch rocks, sticks and pine cones. It is kind of hard to do when it’s a long ways to jump from.

When we were playing that game we saw a lizard. So I grabbed a little net that I found on the ground. I gave the net to Kevin. Then I grabbed a stick to push the lizard towards the net but then Emilio scared the lizard off.

Then my brother told us the come eat.

When we were done eating we went to the beach with alot of rocks surrounding it. My brother and I went swimming and jumped off a rock and into the water.

Then we saw Emilio and Kevin looking for crawdads. So I grabbed a hot dog and put a little piece of it on a stick and showed them how to catch them. Then I gave the stick to Emilio and Kevin. They caught some too. We caught 14 of them all together. When we were done catching crawdads and swimming we went home. When we got home we showed everybody the crawdads. The very next day they died. I had a fun day at Lake Tahoe.

You should always be safe on the internet. I will tell you how to be safe on the internet. First thing you should know is your name. It is dangerous to have your name on the internet. People can find a lot of information about you. Like where you live. What you look like. They can also can find out your age and a lot more things about you.

Having your cell phone number on the internet is bad. A stranger can contact you. They can google your phone number. They can find out what your first and last name is. They can also find out were you live.

Photos

Having pictures of you on the internet is not safe. There could be pictures of you that are embarrassing. There could be a picture of you drunk or at a crazy party. There could also be a picture of you beating up someone. If you go apply for a job they can pull up those pictures of you drunk or at a crazy party and you beating up someone. Then you would not get a good job.

Address

It is dangerous to have your address on the internet. People can find you and know where you live. Someone that does not like you brake in your house and ruin it. Someone can wait for you and kidnap you.

I think the next president should stop the war in Iraq. There are people in Iraq that are dying right now or badly injured . There is a lot of money that is being wasted for soldiers to go over there and all the weapons that they need for the war instead of spending it on stuff that are important like health care, schools and a lot of more stuff.

I think that there should be more health care. There should be more health care because some people can’t go to the doctor because they don’t have any money or health insurance. They should also lower health insurance so people can pay the hospital bill.

We Skyped with Mr. Mayo’s class in Maryland because we wanted to show them our vignette about internet saftey. A vignette is a short story. They called us on Skype and Mr. Crosby answered. But we couldn’t see them. They could see us and hear us but we could only hear them. Then we tried again and hung up. We tried one or two more times but we still couldn’t see them. Then Mr. Crosby told them to restart their computer. So they did. Then they called us back but we still couldn’t see them so we just for got about it. After that a different group in our class told Mr. Mayo’s class their vignette. When they were done a couple of Mr. Mayo’s students asked us questions and told us a little about them, like what their favorite sport is. After that their camera was working and we could see them. Then our table went and told them our vignette. When we were done they asked us some more questions. Then we lost connection and Mr. Mayo’s class went to their other class. That was the end of that.

Today Cherlanda and Kayla from the UNR woman’s basketball team came and visited our class room. They told us a little about them.

Cherlanda is the captain of the team. She started playing on a team when she was 11. She also got a full scholarship to go to the UNR. Cherlanda is 5 foot 10. She also just graduated college. Cherlanda has played a lot of sports. She is from Arizona. She has been playing college basketball for five years. Cherlanda is #25.

It is Kayla's first year in college. She is 6 foot tall. Kayla is # 34.

They both play forward. They both have been injured before. They have two practices a day and they also played 15 games all ready and are 8-7 so far. They can’t go rock climbing or snow boarding because they can get hurt.

On Saturday my dad took my two nephews, my sister, my friend Karla and I to one of their games. They where playing New Mexico. It was fun they throw T-shirts but we did not catch any. There was not a lot of people there. There were two guys making noises when ever the New Mexico team tried to score. They would giggle their keys around to make noises and some times when the two guys made noises the New Mexico team missed a shot. When the game was over the basketball players through little basketballs to the fans but we did not get any. The Wolfpack won 61 to 56 and because they won they are now 9-7.

My Championship Game - Remix                                     Emilee                            One day I was getting ready for my soccer game. It wasn't just any game it was the championship game.


    When I got there I started to warm up for the game.


    When the game start the other team had the ball and scored right away.


     When we had the ball we almost scored a goal. Then the other team got the ball and dribbled the ball down the field and scored. When we had the ball, we started passing the ball up the field. When the ball came to me I kicked the ball towards the goalie box, then the goalie dove for the ball and missed and the ball went into the net. Then every one on my team got really happy.


     I took the ball away from the other team and passed it to my teammate but then all of a sudden a girl from the other team stole the ball back and scored.


     When the game was over the final score was 4-1. We lost but I still had a good time.

    I have been blogging for 2 years. I really like getting comments on my blog. I like to read them and see what they say. I also like to send comments on other peoples blog. I like to read their stories.

    Two college softball team's were play softball and it was neck to neck. A girl named Sara was up to bat. She was a senior and have never hit a home run or won a champion ship game.


     There was already two people on base and had one pitch left. Than all of a sudden she hit the ball and it went over the fence. Every one started to cheer and the two girls that were on bases made it back to home plate.


    Sara did not touch first base so she started to turn around but when she was turning around her knee tore. She fell down and crawled to first base and started to hug first base because she was in so much pain. The Coach asked the umpire if another girl on their team can run around the bases for her and he said they can’t do that. If they helped her she would been out of the game.


     Because she only made it to first base the umpire was going to make it a single.


    Then a player from the other the that has hit the most home runs in the league, stud up and asked the umpire if they can carry her around the bases. The umpire looked at her funny. He said they can.


     So her and another player on her team went up to Sara and asked her if they could carry her around the bases and Sara said yes and thank you. Then the girl that helped her told her that she hit the ball over the fence and that she deserves to get credit for a home run. So they picked her up and carried her around the bases. They helped her touch every base with her left foot. When the girl that helped her looked up she did not see yelling and screaming in the crowds, she saw crying and emotions.        


    Then the two girls put her down on home plate.         That was the last of Sara’s softball career.


   


    I thought that was good sportsman ship. I think that was nice of those two girls for taking Sara around the bases, so she can get a home run. They didn’t have to take her around the bases. They could of let her sit there and only have a single but they didn’t.

    In class we are reading the story Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone. So far we have read 5 chapters. I am going to list a few things that I think is important in the book so far.


1) Harry learns he’s a wizard.


     I think that is important because it explains the weird things going on in his life.


2) Harry knows that Voldemort killed his parents.


     That is important because Harry knows what happened to his parents and it tells why he lives with the Dursley’s.


3) Harry is going to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardly.


     That is where he learns how to use his magic correctly and where he learns to defend himself and learn new spells.


       So far in the book Harry finds out he is a wizard and Hagrid took him to Diagon Alley to buy his school stuff. Harry Potter is looking forward to going to Hogwarts.


      Mr. and Mrs. Dusley don't want him to go to Hogwarts and learn magic tricks because they want to be normal not weird.

    Ronaldinho was born on March 21, 1980 in Rio Germain the capital of Porto Alegenal. His mother was studying to be a nurse. His dad was a shipyard worker and a footballer for local club Esporte Clube Cruzeiro.  His father had suffered a fatal heart attack when Ronaldinho was eight.


    Ronaldinho's soccer skills began to blossom at an early age, and he was first given the nickname Ronaldinho because he was often the youngest and the smallest player in youth club matches.     Today we skyped with a class in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At first they could not hear us. Then we hung up and tried again. It worked that time and we started our presentation. We told them about our state Nevada.


     When we were done with our presentation we sang the Home means Nevada song and we asked them some questions. They asked us some questions too. Here is stuff I found out about them.


     The name of their schools is Goethe Schule. Schule is german for school. They are 10 years old and go to 5th grade. They like to play soccer. One of their favorite foods is pizza. 12 of them speak English and all of them speak Spanish and German. The weather over there is cold and sunny.

    Today we skyped with a class in Nelson, New Zealand. They go to a school called Appleby School. We gave our presentation about Nevada to them. Then we were done giving our presentation to them, we sang Home Means Nevada to them.


    When we were done singing the song to them, they sang a song to us. The song they sang was in Maori. Then they asked us some questions. When they were done asking us questions, we asked them some questions.


    One of their favorite foods is chicken. They also say chook for chicken. They have 100 kids in their school. They like to play rugby. They have 42000 people in Nelson, New Zealand.


       They asked us how we got to school? Some of us walked, some got a ride and some rode a scooter. When they heard that one  of us rode a skateboard, they got excited. I don’t think they have ever saw a skateboard before. They have 4 million people in their country.

It was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh in 1930, it became a dwarf planet on August 24, 2006, it is made out of ice and rock, it has 3 moons: Charon, Nix, Hydra and it was named by Veretia Phair. The interesting thing about the Moon is that it is mostly made of rock. The distance from Earth to the Moon is 384,403 km, there is oxygen on the moon, there is also gravity on the Moon but it’s one-sixth of earths gravity. The Moon has 8 phases. Jupiter has the most moons, it has 63. The interesting thing about the Moon is that it is mostly made of rock.

    My teams presentation is on recreation.

    We built a club because you can dance there, hang out with your friends and you can have a great time. Inside it has a disco ball and a dance floor. It also has a DJ. There is a bar in there so people can have a few drinks. There is also a bathroom in it incase someone drank to much. On the out side of the club is an air lock, so the oxygen stays in side the club. The club is purple because it is a dark color and dark colors attract more of the suns energy. Then the energy will go to the solar panels, on the ruff of the club. we put plastic on the ruff so at night they can take the regular ruff off and look at the stars at night

    We also built a place to rock climb. We built it because there are a lot of places on mars to rock climb. If you don’t want to rock climb you can mountain bike. We put plastic underneath the rock climb place, so that incase the people that are rock climbing fall, the plastic will catch them. We also built it for shelter because if a big storm hits or a dust devil comes they would have shelter and not have sand flying every were.

    We also made a volleyball court that goes inside the shelter that we made. We made it big so that we could show you. We thought volleyball because it is a fun sport and it is a good way to exercise.
