Great America

By Jerico

In the year 2008 I went to Great America with all my uncles, aunts and cousins. When we first got inside we walked around until we saw a ride. We waited in line for 15 minutes. Then, we walked again and found a 3 point shoot out contest. Me, my dad and uncle joined in. The game point was 30 to win an Xbox 360. I only made 19 points, none of us won the Xbox but we each won something. So then, my uncle saw this water ride that we all wanted to ride. It made us really wet. We dried up then went to go eat lunch at about 1 pm. After that we went to a show. The people that were in the show were the people from America's Best Dance Crew. The Crew’s name was Kaba Modern. After the show we rode the Flight Deck and then we left. We went to go eat at this restaurant that made Filipino food. It was delicious. Then after that we went back to the hotel and rested for a little. After we rested, we went to go swimming. But the pool closed at 11 pm and it was already 10 pm. So we swam for an hour. After swimming we all took a shower then went to sleep. The good thing was that the pool was heated. So, we all woke up and took another shower and left to go to the mall that was across the street. We took 4 mini vans because there was so many of us. When I first got there I went strait to the Nike Factory to buy shoes. I bought these black Nikes that were $20. Then me and my oldest cousin that was 15 years old his name is Josh. We went to the Marc Echo store. We bought alot of clothes because there was a big sale. We stopped shopping at 8 pm and went back to the hotel and tried on everything that we bought. Then, we all went back to the mall to watch the movie Hancock. It was a pretty good movie. After the movie we watch the fire works because it was the 4th of July. The next day we left the hotel for good. After we checked out we went to this place to eat, it was called Goldilocks. It was good, After we ate we went to another mall. Me and Josh went to all the shoe stores and bought alot of shoes for a cheap price. Then, after that we went to a bakery. We got a whole bunch of bread, cakes and cup cakes. Then, we went to eat lunch at In-N-Out. I got a double-double with a Dr. Pepper. We ate for about a half an hour because all of our parents wanted to stay and talk. They talked for 15 minutes. We left and went to a park. Me, Josh, My dad and uncle played Basketball. At the end of the game it was a tie. The score was 77-77. We stayed there for 2 hours. After that we left for home.

Broke My Ankle

By Jerico

One day in the after noon, my friends and I were dancing on the street where no one drove. We had alot of speakers because there was alot of us and we wanted the music to be loud. My friend dared me to do a back flip but I told him I couldn’t. He said, “Just try it”. I tried it but I stopped cause I got scared. When my friend said, “I’ll give you $10 if you land the back flip”. I tried to do it but I landed on my back. It hurt a little bit so I sat on the porch and took a drink of my Powerade. I tried it again and fell on my head it hurt real bad and I had to go inside to put a bandage on it because I got a cut. I told my friends I will try later. We went inside my house to play games for an hour. We went outside to play basketball. My team lose 30-24. I told my friend I will try it again. I took a drink of my Powerade then, tried. I fliped and when I tried to land it I heard a CRACK. My mom and dad rushed me to the hospital and I got right in to surgery. After the surgery I got a cast and crouches. I went home ate dinner and went to bed.

The Black And White Cat

By Jerico

When I saw the black and white cat, I thought the cat was looking at a mouse. I guess he was hungry. He went down stairs and went into the room where the mouse was. The mouse was eating some cheese. The cat stop to hear the mouse move so the cat knows where the mouse is. The mouse saw the cat through this little hole so, the mouse tried to escape slowly. The mouse stepped on a small stick and it snapped. The cat ran as fast as he could then the mouse ran as fast as he could. The mouse went through the door and went out of the house. The cat ran outside but couldn’t find the mouse. The mouse was in the bush with berries in them. The cat spotted the bush and went close to the bush cause the cat wanted berries. But, then the mouse ran away into the street and far away it went.

By Jerico

One Friday night my friends and I went to the park to play football and basketball. We started with basketball it was 5 against 5. We played for an hour, the score was 102-96. My team won because we shot only 3 pointers and lay ups. We played football. It was tackle football. We played for half an hour. My team loss, the score was 36-24. Then my friend came with a cd player that was really loud. So, the girls sat, talked and watched the boys dance. We danced until midnight. Then my dad picked me to go eat. We went to Jack In The Box to eat. Then, I went home and went to sleep.

Tasting Tea

By Jerico

Today, September, 25, we tasted tea for the first time in school. It was called Jasmin tea. It tasted good with the biscuit. This was the first time in my life that i’ve tasted Jasmin tea. Today we had to drink the tea a fancy way evan with the biscuit. The tea looked like honey. Mr. Crosby got the tea in Shanghai, China. The tea smelled really good it made me sleepy and relaxed at the same time. The tea reminded me of my old house on a Saturday morning. The tea also reminded me of me playing my favorite game when I was sick drinking tea. Mr. Crosby made the tea with a perculator. After we finished the biscuit we all got a fortune cookie. The tea also reminded me of a bucket of dirty water. My fortune cookie said, “ The world is and oyster, you are its pearl”. Today was a cool day.

Safety Paragraph

Article posted October 10, 2008 at 06:45 PM GMT0 • Reads 114

Safety Paragraph

Jerico

You should never have a picture of your license plate and car on a public web site. You shouldn’t have it because strangers can Google the license number and find out where that person lives. Its also dangerous because strangers can try to find your house and try to kidnap you. People you don’t like could find where you live.

Do you have picture of yourself on the internet? What if a bad person saw the picture and your friend has put the address or phone number by it? That bad person could find out where you live. That bad person can also find out who you are and trick you to get in his car and kidnap you.

Have you ever put your cell phone number on the internet before? If you have then you better take it off because there are bad people out there.

Those strangers that have your number can call you and you might fall into there trap and give them your address. People you don’t like can also keep calling you until you answer and they can start saying mean stuff to you. Those are 3 paragraphs about how to be safe on the internet.

A Letter To The Senators

Article posted October 13, 2008 at 07:05 PM GMT0 • Reads 113

Dear Senator McCain and Senator Obama,

I think this country needs lower gas prices because not alot of people in the U.S. can afford the gas. Which means food is going up and other things in this world. We should find a way to stop using gas and use other stuff because gas is polluting the air. I heard that we can use vegetable oil for the car instead of using gas. Gas can hurt people if some how the air gets too polluted too much for us to not breathe anymore. The gas polluting the air can cause the Arctic to melt and we can have a huge flood that can destroy everything. That is one issue in this world.

Another issue is to stop the war. If we stop the war then we wouldn’t have to worry about suicide bombers coming to America. We also don’t have to worry about more and more people getting killed everyday. The war cost a lot of money too so if we stop the war now we wouldn’t pay as much. We wouldn’t have to worry about the nuclear bomb. These are 2 paragraphs of issues in this world.

Skypeing Maryland

Jerico

Today October 15, 2008, our class was Skypeing a class in Maryland. The first 4 times we couldn’t see them. Then the 5th time it worked. But, then we kept losing connection with them. So the teacher in Maryland/ Mr. Mayo had to keep restarting his computer. But then his class that we worked with had to go to another class because they are 7th graders. Our class wrote vignette about stories how people get kidnapped these days. My tables story is when this kid named CJ gets a message on Myspace and it tells him to meet this guy at the park. Mr. Mayo’s class gave some good tips on how to be safe and they had good questions. The rest of our class was pretty good too. Everth, Marcos and I made the story. I came up with the name CJ. Mr. Mayo’s class is 3 hours ahead of us. Mr. Mayo’s class also said it was hot there too. I was pretty nervous trying to say my part of the story because I never heard of Skype before. My class watched this video about internet safety. It was about this girl named Jennifer that was being all dumb and puts out everything personal on the internet about herself and her friend.

Iceland, Alan Levine

Today, November 25, 2008, we Skyped Alan Levine. He was in Iceland taking care of someone's house while they were away. He has Iceland money that are called kroners. Kroners have cool looking designs on them. There are sharks, crabs, and fishes on the kroners. One kroner is worth less than a penny here. He also said he saw geysers by a hotel. He is close to Greenland and the North pole. The owners of the house he is staying at have a hot tub, a dog, and 18 horses. The dog was trained to bark at sheep and jump on the horse’s back. Alan is coming here in 2 weeks to meet with us and talk about a lot of stuff. He taught us that takk means thank you in Icelandic, and skal means cheers. You can see horses and sheep there. The owner of the house is an architect, so she built the house that they are living in. Kids over there play rugby. Kids there also are into games and horse riding or even hanging out at hot springs. He said that it gets boring there sometimes. Since he's been there he has never ridden any of the horses. It gets below freezing there in the winter. They get alot of rain but not that much snow. Where he is there are only 2 channels that you can watch on TV. When the owners get back they are going to cook him reindeer stew and Alan is going to cook chicken for them for Thanksgiving. In Iceland they don’t celebrate Thanksgiving only Christmas. He listens to music on iTunes because they don’t have American Music on their radio. He likes listening to rock and roll. Most of the heat in their house comes from geothermal energy. The sun is up every day of the year except for some days in January. Alan is by a city called, Reykjavik. He said that alot of people there that are Icelandic can speak English well enough so he can understand when he buys food or when he buys supplies.

Reindeer Story

Article posted December 19, 2008 at 08:00 PM GMT0 • Reads 120

By Jerico,

One Christmas Eve, My mom told me to go to bed because the next day was Christmas and Santa was coming. I went to sleep at 9 pm because I didn’t want wake up early to ruin the surprise to see if I got what I wanted from Santa. I was having a dream about me in the mall buying something for my mom and dad. Then I woke up in the middle of the night and Santa was right there in front of me. I asked myself, “Why is he here? Why did he come to me.” I was scared and happy at the same time. Santa said to me, “Jerico can you please help me on this journey? I am one reindeer short for the night and I don’t know if I can make it tonight without your help. Cupid is sick and can’t help me tonight. I need your help so I can bring joy to the world.” I said to Santa, “Yes.”

Finally I climbed out the window quietly so I wouldn't wake my mom and dad up. When I got to the roof Santa put these magical antlers on my head. After 8 seconds I felt a tickle on my hand then I looked at my hands and they were forming into hooves. I was turning into a reindeer. The process was ticklish. After I turned into a reindeer, Santa took me to the North Pole so I can do my training for flying. Right after the training was over the elves were done making the toys and put them on the sleigh.

After the elves finished, Santa hooked me up to the sleigh. The training elf said that all I had to do is jump in the air and start running. So, that is what I did and I was pretty good. When we were running I was going to fast and keep bumping into Vixen and Rudolph. We stopped at a kids house named Charlie. He was on the nice list and he asked for a Ipod. Santa jumped out of the sleigh and into the chimney. All of the reindeers including me were still in the air. Santa was still in the house, he took 5 minutes to be finished at Charlie’s house.

Santa took the cookies from Charlie’s house and he appeared on the sleigh. He gave each and everyone of us a piece of the cookie. It tasted good, it was a sugar cookie with sprinkles on it. Then off we went to several houses and all around the world, my favorite place was Japan in Tokyo. We got done at 5 am in the morning it was still dark out. Santa dropped me off at the roof of my house. Santa said to me, “Thank you Jerico for helping me this Christmas.” I said back to him, “Your welcome Santa.” Santa said back, “I will never forget you my friend. Good bye now and may your Christmas be a good one.” So Santa took the antlers off my head and I felt tickle on my hand again. It was me turning back to human again. Santa said good bye and I said bye back to him.

He opened my window for me and he said, “Merry Christmas Jerico.” “Merry Christmas Santa,” I whispered to him. He disappeared so quickly that I could see him through the window anymore. My mom, dad and sister were still fast asleep so I thought I would go back to sleep too. My sister woke me up at 11 Am and said it was Christmas. I said to her, “I know.” So I woke up took a shower and went down stairs to see what every body was. doing. They said they were all waiting on me.

I ate breakfast and started opening my gifts. I was going to tell my mom that I was with Santa but I knew she wouldn’t believe me so I just kept the secret to myself. So after I opened my presents I found another one in my room. It was from Santa. It was those new pair of shoes I wanted all year. It said on the top of it, “Merry Christmas Jerico.” So I guessed I was on the good list too.

Super Cr3w

Jerico

The brilliant thing about Super Cr3w is that they are break dancers. All the members in the crew are all from Las Vegas, Nevada. The “3” in the cr3w represents three west coast dance crews called: Full Force, Battle Monkeys and Knucklehead Zoo. There are six members that were on America’s Best Dance Crew and faced So Real Cru for the win in a live dance-off. Super Cr3w started in the year 2000 when there was a Bboy Competition. They are also an all male group. Super Cr3w are the winner America’s Best Dance Crew 2nd season. The group also had 3 Filipino members. But, the most fascinating thing about Super Cr3w is that they are break dancers.

What Im Going To Miss About Bloging

Jerico

I’ve been bloging for about 1 year but next year i won’t be bloging anymore but i will be dancing. I will miss writing and commenting on blogs. What i learned about bloging was vocabulary, writing and reading. I wish i could do way more blogs about me and what's been going on. The fun thing about blogs is that you can go and comment on other blogs. The hard thing about bloging is fixing your mistakes and getting the right vocabulary. If another class was thinking about bloging I would tell them to do it because its fun and you can learn alot by doing it. Its fun because you can tell people what's been going on and comment on others blog.

Amazing Softball Team

Jerico

I was shocked to see that the opponent actually helped the other team win the baseball game. It was sad because the girl that hit a home run tore her knee ligament and it ended her career to play softball. The team also took the lost for the girl to fulfill her dream of making a home run. She realized that she missed first base so she turned back but she stepped in a wrong way and she tore her knee. The girl that tore her knee was Sara and she was on the Western Oregon Team. Sara never hit a home run in college baseball. The opponent had really good sportsman ship for her team to lose and the other to win and help them win.

When I first came to this class the first thing I started doing was Bloging. But since now that school is almost over I've gotten really good and vocabulary and other thing you have to learn in writing. Im going to miss this because it was really fun and you can write about anything you want. Skypeing is what im also going to miss because it is a great experience talking to people around the world.  Mr. Mayo was my first class to Skype with and Wisconsin was last. Marsopolis was also fun. It was fun because it was like a group thing where u had to work with a group and build a habitat. Im going to miss that because it was fun and now I can work with a group better. The Reno Bike Project is what im going to also miss because now that we are finished and its the end of school we wont be able to work on it anymore. When we did the Around The World With 80 Schools was the most helpful thing to me for facing my fear to do speeches to other people than myself. The 7 random facts was a cool thing because it wasn’t just are class that did it and its so random.
