Joey-2008 Presidential Election

Article posted October 15, 2008 at 07:00 AM GMT0 • Reads 98

The most important issues in the the upcoming 2008 presidential election are: the economy and health care. The reason I think health care is an important issue is there are people in the United States who are unable to keep their jobs so they can't pay for health care. When they can't pay for health care, they won't be able to get help when they're sick.

The second biggest issue in the 2008 presidential election is the ECONOMY!!! The reason the economy is such a huge issue is that the unemployment rate has gone up. Unemployment has raised so much in the past eight years that people are starting to not being able to afford their houses, and eventually they'll become homeless. Another reason is the stock market. Last week was the worst week EVER in history of the NYSE, and people who are in their 60's have lost thousands of dollars in their 401K's (Retirement Funds).

That is why I voted for Barack Obama. I think his health care plan is better because it will give everyone in the country health care that they can afford. John McCain's plan only gives people who can afford health care the ability to receive health care and that just leaves people who really need health care stranded. Another reason I voted for Obama is because I believe that he can bring the economy back to where it was when the Clintons had the White House.

Joey-The First Dog

Article posted January 23, 2009 at 05:35 PM GMT0 • Reads 59

I think the next First Dog of the United States of America, with the Obama family, should be a Bichon Frise.

The reason I think the Bichon Frise is a very good choice for their family is because it's hypoallergenic, and Malia (Barack Obama's Oldest Daughter) is seriously allergic to dogs. For example, if their family got a Golden Retriever, Malia would not be able to live with that type of dog.

There are many other reasons the Bichon Frise would be a good dog for the Obama family. Besides being a hypoallergenic dog, they get along with everyone. That would make it a good political dog!!! It also won't bite a reporter's finger like Barney (President Bush's Dog) did.

They're also very easy to train so it won't make a mess of the historic and elegant White House!

To conclude this blog entry, I think the Obama's Bichon Frise should be named Snowball because in a picture on the AKC website (American Kennel Club) it's white and looks like a little snowball.

I hope the Obama family ends up picking the Bichon Frise for their dog in the White House.
