Drugs in our society

Article posted September 16, 2010 at 03:13 AM GMT0 • Reads 34

Drugs, even medical drugs (e.g. Nurofen, Panadol)are dangerous for us physically, mentally, etc. Medical drugs are dangerous when we overdose, e.g. Morphine addiction (like the old, sick lady from To Kill a Mockingbird). Drugs such as Marijuana, Cocaine and Heroin are obviously dangerous to us, and are even more dangerous when we mix them together, e.g. Ecstacy and alcohol. Common drugs such as Tobacco usually affect us worst in the long-term. This is difficult to stop, as they are very addictive. Also, one of the reasons people take drugs is peer pressure, as it 'looks cool'.

My Generation

Article posted September 16, 2010 at 03:30 AM GMT0 • Reads 35

Our generation (generation Y) is resistant to the real world. We only know the basics of our world - where places are, when certain things happen (e.g. bus times, school, PARTIES),how to solve common problems and avoid obstacles (whether they are physical or mental - family problems, relationship problems, etc) and more. Unfortunately, we have inherited global problems from our previous generations - Global Warming, the economin crisis, poverty, overpopulation, war, etc. We may or may not be able to solve (or at least prevent) these issues, but it seems we definitely will not if we cannot solve local problems first, e.g. gangs, thieves, etc.

My Perfect Partner

Article posted September 16, 2010 at 03:41 AM GMT0 • Reads 35

I have to admit I'm not going to reveal my full thoughts on this, as it is sort of a personal matter. Bu nevertheless, my perfect partner would like me for who I am, as I would not wish to change them either. We would need at least a few things in common, whether they be personalities or just a favourite TV show. Not trying to be picky, my perfect partner would need to be a free spirit - they would do whatever they feel like doing, be unafraid to share their thoughts and feelings, simply ask me when they want something, and talk to me if they do not agree with me.

Simple Plan Video

Article posted October 28, 2010 at 02:43 AM GMT0 • Reads 43

It was a pretty good video, it showed us that many people are affected by a car crash, not just the physical victims. This is shown when the family is thrown about in the air where they are, just like the victims of the car crash are.

It is very emotionally moving, which is increased by the music and lyrics along with the visual video. I'd give it a a 3 or so out of 5. That's just my opinion, though.
