Resilence

Article posted May 31, 2010 at 04:21 AM GMT0 • Reads 144

Resiliece is the ability to recover quickly from setbacks. It is the speedy recovery from problems.

People who are resilient have personal strengths, skills, abilities which help them in the tough and challenging times. A resilient person has social skills such as communication and they have the ability to talk their ways through tough times. Problem solving skills such as seeking help are a quality a resilient person has. A resilient person has a sense of purpose and hope for recovery during setbacks.

I feel that I am a resilient person because during the tough, challenging and hard times i have brought myself through them and i have gotten myself through them by using communication, and by believing in myself and by believing that i can get through it with personal strength and endurance.

What can we do for PE when it's raining

Article posted May 31, 2010 at 04:27 AM GMT0 • Reads 35

There are many things we can do for PE when its raining or the weather is bad during a PDHPE class such as the theory side of PE. We can watch movies or documentaries that go with the subject we are currently learning about in Health. We can work on any work needed to be done in previous classes, and we can also play sports or games in the gym or classroom that is appropriate to the space required.

On the days that the weather isn't good we can do many things in those PDHPE classes such as the above.

Article posted May 31, 2010 at 05:03 AM GMT0 • Reads 36

Mental Health is your thoughts, feelings and ability to interact with others in a positive way. Mental health determines how you handle stress, how you think, feel and act in your life, mental health relates to yourself and others and how you make choices. Mental health affects you through your life from early childhood through adolescenes and into adulthood.

In health classes i have learnt that mental health affects everyone and that there are many different mental illnesses such as depression, schizophrenia, epilepsy, phobias, and bipolar disorders.

The poor and disadvantaged are the people who are most hit by mental health.

I have learnt that mental health can effect anybody at any time in their lives and there are many different forms of mental health and mental illnesses.

My perfect moment

Article posted August 5, 2010 at 02:57 AM GMT0 • Reads 36

My Perfect Moment...

My perfect moment would be a moment in my life that balances all the good things in my life and the bad things. My perfect moment would be when I’m at my happiest, and when my social, mental and physical health is at its best.

My perfect moment is when I know that all my family and friends are happy and healthy and when I’m sure that everything in my life is in perfect balance. The ideal moment in my life is when everything is right and I feel confident in the things I have done and my future choices. When I know that my family is proud of me and when I feel confident in myself.

Drugs in our Society

Article posted September 16, 2010 at 03:29 AM GMT0 • Reads 34

A Drug in our Society...

A Drug is any substance besides food, water or oxygen, that when absorbed into the body alters normal bodily functions, a drug also refers to a substance that is used as a medicine or narcotic (a drug whose use is illegal, whether it is addictive or not).

Drugs can have the potential to cause harm, regardless of how often it is used. Drugs can have the effect to dominate a person’s life; they can affect people’s relationships.

The topic Drugs in our society, have different opinions from different people. Some people steer clear of any drugs harmful to their bodies and their health. On the other hand some people including adolescences like to try and experiment with drugs which can lead to different sorts of problems. Drugs in our society can affect people in different ways such as making people cautious or making people willing to try them.

Drugs can cause serious problems and can also ruin relationships, which is my personal opinion.

My Generation

Article posted September 16, 2010 at 03:40 AM GMT0 • Reads 35

My Generation, Generation Y...

A Generation is a group of people who are born and living about the same time. The Generation which I am a part of is Generation Y as I am born in 1994. Older people sometimes complain about our generation because they think we take things for granted and that we rely too much on technology. I think they complain about our generation because they don’t understand why we do what we do and because they don’t get why we have such things in our generation which they didn’t have in theirs.

I think our generation is constantly changing and will keep changing and when I’m older I might think the same as the older generation do now. I think my generation is very fortunate for what we have and what is still to come.

Simple Plan Music Video

Article posted October 28, 2010 at 02:45 AM GMT0 • Reads 48

The music video by Simple Plan called 'How can this happen to me' is trying to bring across the message to their audience of the dangers of road safety and road accidents, and the effects of vehicle accidents on the people involved and the families and friends of those involved.

The video shows the incident when a young girl and young boy who were both driving at night collide into each other resulting in the young girls death. The video shows the crash in slow motion and in detail, the video also shows a scene when family members are being thrown across the room which represents the impact of the incident on the friends and family of those involved which is also in slow motion. In the video a broken photograph of the family shows the shattered family and represents the grief of those affected by the incident.

The message of this music video that is being portrayed to the audience is that everyone including friends and family are affected by these sorts of accidents as well as those involved and that the safety of everyone on the roads is extremely important. This video by Simple Plan has a very strong message which I think is important for everyone to know and see.
