Title: Behind the Bedroom Wall

Author: Laura E. Williams

Copyright Date: 1996

We chose this book because it was one of our top two choices for our books. It also seemed more interesting than the other book we were going to choose. We were very good at reading it fast and fluent as well. Also, it has a different point of view, from a child Nazi, as oppose to from a Jew, like many other related topic books. This is why we chose the book Behind the Bedroom Wall.

Assignment #2

Article posted June 1, 2010 at 06:27 PM GMT0 • Reads 48

Hi this is Kate!!

The main character in our book is Korinna, a 13 year old girl, who is part of a youth Nazi group. But another character that I think is important is Korinna's mother Frau Rehme. I think she is important because she is the one who is a traitor and hiding the Jews. She makes the decisions for Korinna and guides her life to the right path. She is also the one who mainly takes care of the Jews behind the bedroom wall and it becomes a conflict.

Assignment #4

Article posted June 7, 2010 at 06:17 PM GMT0 • Reads 51

The setting of the story is Germany. It influenced the story because it is the time of the Holocaust.  The Holocaust is really big in Germany and at this time especially has a big part on this story.

The genre of our book is historical fiction because it really happened in history. The genre effects the setting because Germany is a real place and it really happened in Germany and it also was the time of the Holocaust, which is real and proves that it is historical fiction.

Assignment #6:)!!

Hi this is Kate.

After reading my classmates blogs, I think the charcters in the books have a lot in common. First off, they all take place around the same time, which is during the Holocaust. They are also Jews or helping other Jews, which means that either way Jews play a big role in these stories. I also think another interesting book would be Stones in Water because it seems to be an enjoyable book to read for my classmates.

Thanks for reading:-) !!

Assignment #8!!!

Hi, it is Kate again!

I think the turning book in the book I am reading  is when Korinna's friends start to ignore her. Korinna knows something is wrong but can't quite get figure it out. The Gestop  will  come to Korinna's house to search it at night but will find nothing because the Krugmanns will be gone and on thier way to a safer place. The one thing that surprised me is when Rita turned Korinna in. Korinna trusted Rita and now her friend turned her in to her brother.

Thanks for reading!!!!
