Hello everyone! This is Danny Li and my group is about to read the book Stones in Water. It is by Donna Jo Napoli. We chose it because the cover looked mysterious. We also chose it because the description sounded amazing and it pulled us in! Stay tuned for more!

SIW Assighnment#1

Hello! This is Danny again and based on what I've read, I think that Roberto is the main character, and based on what I've read, I think that he is brave,he has a lot courage, and he is friendly. You can tell that he is the main character because of how often he is stated in the book, even though his brother and friends are sometimes mentioned. If I had to pick an actor to act him out, it would be a younger version of Tom Cruise...STAY TUNED FOR MORE!

SIW Assignment#4

Article posted June 3, 2010 at 06:05 PM GMT0 • Reads 51

My group and I are back with more information on the book. The setting right now is a cold place in Ukraine, and it influences how the story is told because the story itself is starting to turn dark and cold. The genre of the book seems to be a little towards the realistic fiction or adventure side. The setting helps me think that it is adventure or realistic fiction because during the Holocaust a kid really could have been sent to a cold place. The setting also makes it seem like an adventure-it's an adventure to try to stay alive in this cold place. Stay tuned for more on this thrilling book!

It's time for...ASSIGNMENT 7!!! Yipee!

Article posted June 11, 2010 at 06:32 PM GMT0 • Reads 69

The year's almost over...wow!

Anyways, the author is keeping me involved in a clever way! It keeps on adding great story lines and immense details so that I never want to put the book down (even though I have to...).

The author allows me to visualize EVERYTHING by adding awesome details that it's like a movie in my head! It's like I want to read it over and over!

The Last Assignment :( READ ME!

Article posted June 19, 2010 at 05:47 PM GMT0 • Reads 146

I just wanted to thank everyone for a great year...thanks!

For assignment 9, the end of the book was not too...too good. It just ends with the Roman and Roberto rowing a boat as Roberto contines to tell stories. It leaves you with a lot of questions like, What happens to Roberto later? It is a cliffhanger, and I really want to know the answers to my questions. It is like being on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and when you answer a question the person never gives you the answer. It kind of...well... fustrating a bit because you really want to know the answer. All it does is just leave you with predictions. I really think that the end of this book could have ended in a better conclusion.

There is no sequel to Stones on Water which really stinks because I want to know more about what happens to Roberto. Maybe he got shot again. Maybe he got captured. I will never be able to know for sure. So in conclusion, there really should be a sequel to this amazing book.

I really think that everyone did great with their blogs. I have read a lot of blogs (sometimes I even commented on them), and they are all great. So I just wanted to say to everyone FABULOUS job with everything you guys have done!!!

Thanks for reading! I loved blogging! Did you?
