Hi it's Kyra! In the book we're reading, Behind the Bedroom Wall, things with Korinna have been bad. There are Jews behind her bedroom wall! She thought it was mice, but when she scooted her dresser she found people. Korinna was upset. "My parents are traitors" she thought. She missed school and slept all day because she had trouble sleeping at night knowing the enemy was behind her wall. She helped her mother bring food to the family. The little Jewish girl, Rachel was bonding with Korinna and she showed Korinna her drawings of her other family who is seperated from them. It's just Rachel and her mother Sophie. Korinna is not happy at all with enemy-Jews in her house. Will she learn to be friends with them or will she tell someone about them? ......

Hi, it's Kyra! assignment number five was a relief. Korinna's friend Rita came into her house. Rita wanted to see her kitten and Korinna knew her cat was behind the wall. Luckily, her mother got the cat so Rita wouldn't hear the cat meow behind the wall. Rita also looked in Korinna's notebook. It said my parents are the enemy. It was a good thing Korinna made up a lie so Rita wouldn't be suspicious on why she wrote that. Will Korinna's family's secret be discovered? ........

Assignment #9

Article posted June 20, 2010 at 10:35 PM GMT0 • Reads 99

Hi, it's Kyra. Assignment #9 was afterword. It said really what the 1940s was about. People like Korinna's family saved many Jews. People like Rachel's family were saved from being killed. In the 1940s, German kids were brainwashed into thinking what Hitler was doing was good. That's why in the beginning of the book Korinna thought Jews were enemies. We must never forget what happened back then so it will never happen again.
