My partners and I are reading "Stones in Water" by Donna Jo Napoli. I am on the 5th page and the book has already caught my attention.I wanted to read this book because the cover was interesting. The summary my teacher read was also interesting.

The main character in "Stones in Water" is Roberto. He is an Italian. His father is a gondoliere. Roberto knew that he will never be a gondoliere, because his big brother,Sergio,will be the one to inherit the license when his father was ready to give it up, but Roberto knows how to handle a gondola.
