School so far

Article posted September 23, 2010 at 11:20 PM GMT0 • Reads 1055

School's awesome so far. It's strange how the schedule is defferent from last year. Mornings are hard because I have to get up early and then feed my chickens and check for eggs, brush my teeth and eat breakfast then get dressed, then out the door.

The Hidden Village

Article posted October 29, 2010 at 10:26 PM GMT0 • Reads 228

Chapter #1

It was a warm day in Thailand. I was reading a book about geckos. It was peaceful until I heard someone yell, “Help!”

I jumped up remembering that it was Halloween week when people play pranks and try to scare each other. I wondered if it was a prank or someone was in trouble. I decided to investigate.

I went to the market because that was where I thought the scream for help seemed to come from. Everyone seemed worried. I asked someone who looked my age what was going on. She looked at me strangely. “Haven’t you heard a girl disappeared?” She asked. “What!” I said. “I think you heard”, she said.

Chapter #2

That night I was reading a book when I noticed something written in code on the book. I looked at it more closely. It looked like Morse code. I ran down the stairs to the library part of my house.

I got my codebook and looked for Morse code. When I found Morse code I ran up the stairs into my room and looked at the code. It said who ever looked for the Hidden Village and treasure without this book will be captured forever. I looked for more information. Instead I found a map of a Labyrinth. The next thing I knew I fell asleep.

Chapter #3

The next day I started to search for the Hidden village. After a couple hours I found it. I stepped up to the door. There was a key hole. I looked in the book. There was a key. But then I noticed someone watching the door in a tree. I crept up to the tree and captured him. He told me that he tied the girl up at the bottom of the tree and it was all a prank. I called the police anyway. He also said that he wrote in my book and that the key was cardboard.

The Turkeys That Escaped Thanksgiving

Article posted November 19, 2010 at 07:50 PM GMT0 • Reads 269

Gobbriella was a good and considerate turkey. She was funny, brave (Except about getting killed on Thanksgiving), adventurous, and crazy (But in a good way.) Her full name was: Gobbriella Gobby Gobber and her nickname was Gobbry. She had one younger brother that was named Gobblyster and was 5 Gobbriella was 10. She was an orphan. Last year her parents died from Thanksgiving. Gobbriella lived in a farm in Colorado.

Thanksgiving was coming up. Gobbriella was scared. She needed a plan to escape. That night she thought of the book, Hansel and Gobble a story she had read when she was little. Hansel was fattened but every time the witch came to see if he was fat enough to eat he stuck out a bone and in the end his sister Gobble pushed the witch into the fire. But that didn’t sound right.

The farmers were trying to fatten Gobbriella and her brother Gobblyster. But Gobbriella told Gobblyster that the farmers were trying to fatten them like in, Hansel and Gobble. (Gobblyster thought it was a treat.)

She decided to wait till morning to make a plan.

Cock-a-doodle-doo a rooster crowed to wake everyone up. Gobbriella woke up right away she began thinking of a plan. Could she escape by fighting like in Kung Fu Turkey when the bad guy escaped? Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard hammering. What’s going on? She thought. She ran out of the coop and saw the farmers making a 99,999-meter wall around the houses with turkeys and cannons loaded with candy. “Yikes”, she exclaimed. When Gobblyster came out he looked scared. “What’s happening?” He asked. “The farmers are crazy”, Gobbriella said.

How will my brother and I escape? She thought. Then an idea popped into her head. My brother and I can play game called dead turkeys where we pretend to be sick with disease and finally pretend we were dead.

The next day she told the plan to her brother and they started pretending to have disease and played dead and then finally the farmers threw them out into the wild. “I’m free!” They yelled at the same time. The plan had worked.

Santa Gets the Flu

Article posted December 16, 2010 at 09:04 PM GMT0 • Reads 405

Time; night

Date; Christmas Eve

Kid’s Age; six

Kid’s name; Lilly

One Christmas Eve Lilly was looking out the window and she saw an elf. She called to her mother, “There’s an elf in the window!” Her mother just said, “What an imagination.” Lilly opened the window and let the elf in. The elf said, “Thank you.” Lilly said, “You're welcome.” The elf said, “Santa needs your help.” Lilly exclaimed, “Santa needs my help!” “Yes,” the elf said “oh I forgot to introduce myself my name’s Lylle.” “What does Santa need my help for?” Lilly said. “Santa has the SWINE FLU!” “Oh my,” said Lilly.

“Hop into my transporter,” said Lylle. “Okey dokey artichokey,” Lilly said. They hopped into the transporter and Lylle said, “Antarctica here we come.” Suddenly someone grabbed the transporter. “Who’s that?” said Lilly. “The evil Santa,” Lylle said as the evil Santa started shooting candy canes.

Suddenly Lilly heard someone calling her name, “Lilly if you don’t…" Suddenly she woke up in her bed and realized that her parents had said, 'Lilly if you don’t wake up I’ll pour water on your head" - which had happened. “So it was just a dream,” Lilly said. “What,” her parents asked and Lilly told about her Christmas dream. They went down stairs to open presents. Lilly saw tons of presents. There was one that caught her eye the most though she saw who it was from. It said TO: LILLY FROM: LYLLE. That’s strange she thought. Maybe it wasn’t a dream. She never found out.

How to Draw a Picture for Intermediates

Article posted March 11, 2011 at 11:39 PM GMT0 • Reads 268

Some pictures are easy but some are hard. If you haven’t ever drawn a picture I’ll suggest that you pick a different book unless you like a challenge. And if you are an expert at drawing I’ll suggest a harder drawing book. But if you are a intermediate at drawing this is a perfect book for you.

What You Need

  • A piece of paper

  • A pencil

  • If you want to color in your picture use markers, crayons or colored pencils

Scenery

First draw a horizon line. Next draw some plants like trees and bushes. After that draw some people if you want to. You can draw a road going up to the horizon line, if you do you should make it get smaller and smaller as it gets closer to the horizon line. Finally if you want it to be a beach or it to have a lake draw a body of water and sand.

Japanese Anime

The thing that makes Japanese Anime, Japanese Anime is mostly the eyes. First you make a horizon line. Next you make two ovals about the same size. Make a circle inside of the bottom each oval. Make a little circle inside the circle color it black. Make the head. Try to make the head make the eyes look big. Make it so the people are cartoon and the background looks real.

Good luck! Remember to always start with the horizon line. I hope you find it not too easy and not too hard. The hardest would be the Japanese Anime and you would really tell if you tried it. Maybe you should check out a Japanese Animeted book from the library before you do it.

The Horrible Bike Experience

Article posted March 16, 2011 at 11:55 PM GMT0 • Reads 246

I was riding my bike at Arbor Heights. It was really fun until I accidently rode my bike to close to a pole. The handle bar hit the pole and my bike fell on top of me.

It hurt a lot especially because my bike is pretty heavy. I had to go home to clean my awfully hurting wounds. It hurt just getting up. I felt bruised all over.

When we got home we cleaned my wounds. Some had blood but most of them didn’t. They were mostly scrapes. The worst wound was on my knee.

I hope you don’t have that happen to you. It’s always good to be careful. If it has happened to you try not to do it again, you know what it feels like.

The End

Learning Korean

Article posted April 7, 2011 at 06:32 PM GMT0 • Reads 186

Today my mind is on Korean culture, writing and the language. I’m learning how to speak and write Korean. I’m half Korean. I’m also reading books that have Korean culture in them, like one example is “Year of Impossible Goodbyes.” This book is about the Japanese occupation, and after that the Russians came and the main characters, a girl and a little brother try to go to the South and they lose their mother on the way there and find out that their guide that took them there is a double agent. I’m learning Korean at home by the internet, my mom and books.

The Reading MSP

The Reading MSP wasn’t as hard as I thought. It was actually pretty easy. It even was a little tiny bit fun!

The Math MSP

The Math MSP was way harder than the Reading MSP to me. I thought it would be easier than it was. It was boring.
