GIRL SCOUTS

Article posted October 11, 2006 at 08:47 PM GMT0 • Reads 159

I was going to the ferryboat one day. It took almost a whole hour to get on the ferryboat. We pretended that the jet was a big hot tub. The ferryboat finally got to the camp. The ranger told us to make noise so we would scare the cougar away. Abby and I are very good at that. Then we went to bed. The next day we did art and made glasses, picture frame and a pin board. After that we went canoeing, and we had to get out of the canoe fast. Because we set the table for lunch we were late after lunch was free time for group A. Abbey is in-group B. My mom and I went hiking around the camp. Then I finished The Trumpet Of The Swan, a good book. When we had finished camp we scared the frogs. Then we gathered big rocks and threw them in the pond. Then we got a snack and drove to the ferry. We just missed the ferry. So we drove to the line, and then about fifteen minutes later we got on the ferry. We were the first one on almost. When we were on the ferry we saw a bike with a banana in the back seat. And we used our things from art to put on a fashion show. We had a great time! Then we used my mom’s flashlight that had a built in radio. Then we dropped Abby off. Then we drove home.

For Halloween I am going to be a cowgirl. I can’t wait. I hope I get a lot of candy. Because my birthday is only a few days after. And my neighbor always has a Halloween party every year. And I always help. Because she puts pumpkins, spiders and rat and graves. I go to her house first always and my brother and me get big bags too.

Wasp ATACK!

Article posted October 31, 2006 at 08:35 PM GMT0 • Reads 158

One day me my dad and mom and brother and playgroup were going camping. When we got to camp we saw a river and little fish were in there. And we got a net and we tried to catch them but they were a little too fast. So we went more up the river and under a big log bridge we saw a bigger fish. Then all the others we saw that day. We did not catch it but that was ok. After that we were hungry so we asked my mom for a snack. And we had for a snack Cheese It’s.

After that then on the other side of the log bridge there was a little spring and so we went to the other side to look at the spring. And the spring led to the river. The spring was on a hill so we decided that we should make leaf boats. It was so fun and after that we went down the hill and when I went down the hill I landed on a wasp nest in the ground. Two wasps managed to get out and started to attack! I was so scared and after that I started to scream. And I got sixteen wasp stings. After that I ran and my dad picked me up and he asked someone if they had medicine. And someone did and it was green and it had air bubbles in it and it was cold. My dad carried me where the fire was and sat down with me on his lap. And he told me a story. Then I went to bed and when I woke up people started bothering me.

And when I got better I ate diner and everyone wanted me to see something. And they showed me a party, a get well party. I felt a lot better. And after that I was ready for bed so I did. And the next morning we started to pack and back home we went.

REPORT CARDS ROCK!

I can’t wait for my report card. I hope I get good grades and I also hope I get to see my report card because it is also exciting. Some times we go out for dinner if my grades are good and most of the time if my grades are extra good I get to choose where we go. And I can’t wait because I feel happy and excited.

I think report cards are good because if we did not have report cards then we would never move to a different grade. You would never ever be in kinder garden or 1st or 2nd or 3rd or 4th and 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th and 10th 11th 12th.

Turkey Escape

Article posted November 22, 2006 at 10:43 PM GMT0 • Reads 142

Hi my name is Gobble Gobble. I am 5 years old and this is my story.

Once in the fall which is my favorite season I was walking for a stretch and all of a sudden something came over me. And I was freaking out. My home was preserved! I can’t believe someone would actually come to a preserved place. And then he took me home of it was not my home. The person who caught me was a farmer and a mean one too. He said to his wife, “I will cook the turkey and we will have a regular feast.” When Gobble Gobble heard this he had to think as fast as he can he did not want to be cooked turkey.

Then he heard the mean farmer. He said to his wife again, “First I will pluck the feathers, then I will cook him, and the most easiest part is to eat it”. I was so scared because he threw me in to a deserted place and I went looking around, I saw an open window but there was a problem. It was ten feet up, so I started to think. So I started walking when suddenly I hit something. It was three big hay bales and they were next to the window. I jumped and jumped till I got to the top. I flopped out of the widow and ran as fast as I could home and told my story to you and my family.

The End.

Christmas in Hawaii

Article posted December 13, 2006 at 11:15 PM GMT0 • Reads 155

Hi! My name is Casey, and this is my Christmas story.

When my family and I went to Hawaii we had grandpa pick us up in his truck. We went to gramma’s and grandpa’s house two or three days away from Christmas Eve.

A few days later it was Christmas Eve and since my part of the family lives in Seattle, my dad said, “ It’s ok to open the presents.” We did, and I got fruitcake from Santa. I was sick to the stomach, and I did not touch it. It was brown, orange, red, and other weird colors in that weird cake, and it smelled terrible. The other people in the family ate it anyway.

A few days later every one was packing to go. Grandpa took us to the airport, and we went home.

The End.

Sledding and Snow Shoeing!

Article posted January 1, 2007 at 09:33 PM GMT0 • Reads 153

Today my family and I went to the Iron Horse Trail to go sledding and snow shoeing. It was fun because when we went snow shoeing we saw snow shoe hare tracks. We followed the tracks into the trees, but we lost them in there so we went back out and kept walking. A few minutes later, we found the tracks again but we didn't try follow them, instead we found two big piles of snow. Mom dug through the piles a litte bit and found a small hole. We could not tell what kind of animal lived there but my hands and feet were getting cold so we headed back to the car. We took the snow clothes off and took the snow shoes off too before we got in the car to keep the snow from getting in the car. We got in the car and while we were driving my dad said, "Let's go down the road to see what was down there". We had our GPS to help locate how long it was but it was so long that we turned around, the GPS said it was 1 mile long. We had only driven half of it but we wanted to go sledding. We went sledding several times down the hill and afer a little bit my brother went to the mini hill and went sledding there. When it was time to go my dad got out the shovel from the car and made a stair case for us to make it eaiser go down the hill. While my mom and dad were putting the sledding stuff away, my brother and I went to play with dads shovel and I made a new stair on the hill but my mom couldn't even make one because the snow was too hard. Then we went home, it was a exciting day! When we left it was about 4:00 and we saw Hailey there too.

The snow man!

Article posted January 15, 2007 at 07:54 PM GMT0 • Reads 160

Today, my family and I are going to make a snowman and I hope it’s going to look good. We made a snowman almost as big as my dad! I couldn’t wait to see what it looks like when we put another bucket on his head for a hat, arms, carrot nose and the bucket on his arm. When I went to look for more snow, it fell down! (Cry) I went to the house with my head down, my mom and dad said they would help after they got their snow clothes back on. I felt happier. Though I still felt sad, I went back outside and my dad actually fixed it! But now, the snowman was smaller than my dad and as big as my mom. We then went back inside and we looked out the window. The snowman fell down again and I was not happy. I told my mom to look but no one wanted to go outside, so I watched TV with my brother and went to bed.

Tomorrow we have school but since Kira goes to the same school, my mom and me will walk her to school. Today is Friday and I will have playgroup after school. My mom has to make something to eat or bring something to drink. Playgroup is when a lot of friends get together at a house and have fun talking, playing in the yard and sometimes watching TV. Playgroup is at Niko’s house. It was fun. When it was time to leave, Katarina asked if I could have a sleep over at her house and my mom said, “Yes”. I was so happy so I went to her house and had a sleep over. When it was time to head home, I did not want to go and so mom waited a little longer then I went home to pack for Andrew’s and Nick’s house for another sleep over. I can’t wait till I can go to there house, they are one of my best friends and I go to their house a lot because my mom and dad knew them when they were in the same school. And I can’t wait because they have a big big house and when I get home I want to play with someone else on play date or another sleep over!

My Favorite Thing to Do During School

Article posted January 24, 2007 at 10:36 PM GMT0 • Reads 162

My favorite thing to do during school is spelling because it's fun (its a good activity for me I think). I also think that it's hard some times because after you finished that you have to do a cross word puzzle or a word find most of the time. I also like this activity because there are spelling units in spelling and after you do spelling and cross word puzzle or word search you write your name on the board and if you are the first one you can make a rhyme like unit one saw the sun, like that.

The Olympic Sculpture

Article posted January 29, 2007 at 05:48 AM GMT0 • Reads 148

Today I went to the Olympic Sculpture Park with my mom, dad and my little brother. The park is near the Space Needle. It was hard to get a parking space because the park was so new. When we finally got a parking space it was pretty far from our destination. But it was fun once we got there because there were big sculptures and it was so cool. My favorite sculpture is called Eagle it is red and it’s shiny in the sun and it’s made of metal and I also know the person that made it. At the beginning of the year there’s art and we learned about him and we saw the flamingo, another piece of art. It is also a piece of art and it does sort of look like one. Even though some time if you look at a weird angle then it well….sort of doesn't look like one. But still it was still cool. There was another one that was big and round and sort of oval a little too, but it was made of that string that was sort of plastic string but I know it was a kind of string I’m sure of that. I also know it was just big enough for a few kids and you could have little kids and my age kids and there was a sign that said, “please take off your shoes before going in to the thing” (well that’s what I said “the thing” well anyway next after we were done we got a map and we did all this cool stuff walking around town and then there was a thing that was REALLY BIG. It was so big but still next to it there was a small thing and after that we went back to the car and we all agreed that it was a good day. The End

Who Do I Admire Most?

Article posted January 31, 2007 at 11:16 PM GMT0 • Reads 307

Hi my name is Casey. I admire my mom because she cares about me. She helps me with words I don’t know. She is also good around the house, is nice, helpful for who ever needs it, washes the clothes a lot, and makes dinner. She makes me feel better when I am sad; she is the BEST mom ever! She also works at school to help my class and Ms. Salter’s class. She also works at my brother’s class. She helps me at homework if I need it like these hard ones that are subtracting 1,000’s from 100’s and so on. She is also one of the best drawers ever because she can draw a perfect bunny. I think she is very good because it shows the fur, it is also very good for the slanted part, and it also has perfect background.

She also feeds the animals a lot because she is very nice even though the animals probably don’t like her that much probably don’t like her because she does not like to play with any of my animals though she plays with them like every month or so. My mom also helps me to do the read to a achieve and she can help when it’s time to go to Target and get my supplies for school. My mom is very smart. I think she is very smart because she is usually ready to help me with my homework or she is ready to answer my questions like what’s multiplication? Or helps me get to Goggle when I need it to look up stuff on the Internet. She can make beautiful snowflakes and they have hearts in them too. Sometimes they're so nice.

It is also very nice of her to help me when I am at school because she helps me by watering my plants because they are too small to grow outside yet. So she keeps it inside and waters it for me and puts it in the windowsill so it grows better and it gets the heat of the house. It will grow into a flower but I don’t know what kind it will be but I know it is a flower? My mom is also good at bedtime because she usually helps by reading books to my brother and me. And that’s why I Admire my mom.

Hi I’m Casey. My best friends are

Andrew and Nick. They are brothers. They are my best friends. Things I like about them are…

1. They invited us to Playgroup. Playgroup is where all these friends get together and you bring a desert or a meal for dinner. You play there then you go home. Did I tell you that this only happens on Fridays? That's when it happens.

2. Andrew and Nick are good at helping me at games and computer games. Mostly Andrew and Nick help me with the computer games though.

3. They help me remember to have a sleep over. So far I still owe them 3 or for 4 sleepovers and that’s very very unfortunate.

4. They keep me busy when I’m bored.

And that is why they are my friends.

Multiplication

Article posted February 27, 2007 at 11:07 PM GMT0 • Reads 161

Multiplication

I think I am learning multiplication sort of well, I also think I have them all in my head. But I’m still not perfect yet but I think I’m getting better but I really have no idea? But I’m very good at x1= and x2= and x3 and I have a problem with x7 x8 x9 and that’s all. But I’m not the best at these but I’m pretty good x4 x5 x6 and that’s all I can say on how good I am about what I’m good at and what I’m not. I am also good at the parts that say, “Can you double 2x6”? When I’m at home I help my brother sometimes find his pieces and I multiply to make sure that he has them all too(I’ve only done it once). I learned how to do a little multiplication in 1st or 2nd, I’m not sure which one but I’m thinking it was 2nd grade. Ok now I’m going to tell you how I learned to do multiplication.

We were driving from somewhere and right before we went up our drive way I asked, “Dad? What is multiplication?”

My dad said it was two numbers that you timed and he said I times problem 2x5=10 because you can do it two ways, you can do two fives or five twos and you still get the same answer. Then I moved to 3rd grade which I’m in now and now multiplication is very much easier. That’s all I remember.

How Did you learn multiplication?

Multiplication Again

Article posted March 6, 2007 at 08:54 PM GMT0 • Reads 131

Hi I’m Casey. Today is March 6, 2007. During math we did new multiplication. We used to do multiplication like this 6x3=18, now we do multiplication like this (1x2x) 4 =8. The weird signs that look like this () those mean time these numbers first and I will show you how you use those signs. (1x4)x4= ok we have our problem now we add 1x4=4. Now that we have 4 as our answer what’s 4x4 and that’s your answer.

Today in math multiplication was fun and did I tell you that I was working with my partner and we almost got to the bottom of the page or we got to the problem 30 something? Who knows what number we got to but I’m still pretty sure that it’s 30 something.

My Favorite Blogs

Article posted March 22, 2007 at 08:39 PM GMT0 • Reads 306

I like these following peoples blog

1. I like Riley2’s blog because she has a lot of good stories and she puts lots of good detail. She has good detail on these stories…

1. All about me

2. Happy Valentine’s Day

3. My dad

And there is a lot more that she is writing too probably. She is also good at writing very very good stories and I think she can do even better ones. The one that I like is called, “Happy Valentine’s Day” I like it because I like dogs, they're so cute. I think she has a lot of comments too I think she has good comments because she is a good writer. I enjoy reading and writing comments to her. Best part is you can comment her!

2. I like Mylee’s blog because they are all interesting, they have very good detail and the one I really like is the one that is called, “The Eight Planets” I like that one because that reminds me that on our class door there is something just like that just it’s a poster it said that Pluto is no longer a planet! Just like Mylee said, but Mylee’s blog is much more detail to me. That 1 must be very interesting to a lot people. Because a ton of people have commented him/her.

How to Make SweetBread

Article posted April 9, 2007 at 07:05 PM GMT0 • Reads 153

Today is the first day of Spring Break. My brother, mom and me are going to make some sweet bread. Sweetbread is bread that is sweet. The ingredients are

1. 1-3/8 cups of milk

2. 1 Large egg

3. 4-1/4 cups of bread flour

4. 3 Tbsp. of sugar

5. 1-1/2 tsp. Of salt

6. 2 Tbsp. Of butter

7. 1 tsp grated orange peels (and that’s how I hurt my self so badly so watch what you're doing when you do it.)

8. 2 tsp of Active dry yeast.

And those are all the steps. Oh wait I almost forgot to tell you that bake it for 3 hours and 30 minutes! And that is how you make sweet bread.

My Chicken Ran!

Article posted April 11, 2007 at 07:24 PM GMT0 • Reads 168

Today is a very scary and sad day because this morning I was sleeping and I heard my chicken squawking. So I got up as fast as I could and put on a jacket and ran outside to go looking for the chickens. I found my brother's chicken near the gate. But I shooed her back in to the area she was supposed to be in. Then I kept walking and then I walked to the next fence and opened it. Then my chicken Zoomed right by. I chased her but I couldn’t find her so I went the other way. Just then a dog came running at me so I walked slowly away. When I was far enough I ran to the fence, opened it, and closed it and ran back inside. Mom said right when I got back in the house, “Casey you scared me when you just woke up and ran out the door” I said, “I heard my chicken” and I started crying so I called dad with mom's help and I talked to him. After that daddy called the Animal patrol to get the dog. And I am still waiting for my chicken to come back...

The first WASL

Article posted April 27, 2007 at 10:53 PM GMT0 • Reads 159

W-A-S-L

April 23, 2007 Monday was the 1st day of WASL (Reading Session 1). I was excited, happy and a little scared. When we started I got a little dizzy and sweaty, my head hurt, and the first thing I did was try to focus. It was hard but I did it, after that I went through the WASL and got stuck once or twice so I skipped them and came back to them. I thought and thought then I got it! I wrote it down and then I was done. Then we had snack. It's when you have a small something. This time snack was Chips. We finished the day and went home after that.

April 24, 2007 Tuesday, 2nd day of WASL (Reading Session2). Today is the next Day of WASL. I hope it will be easier… “Time to start the WASL” said Mr. Ahlness. He is our teacher. We started. I did not get dizzy or sweaty. It was easier after that. SNACK TIME! This time we had Cheese nips I think. After that I went home after the math contest. It is when you put a math problem on the board and then you answer it on paper. Then someone will pick a name with the right answer and if you get picked then you get a prize or a homework pass.

April 25, 2007 Wednesday, 3rd day of W-A-S-L (Math Session 1). Today is a very exciting day because it is the first MATH W-A-S-L! I feel happy & Excited about the W-A-S-L because math W-A-S-L is much easier than reading. Now it is time to start (Mr. Ahlness needs his 2nd voice it’s funny) so he tells us the rules, how many points you get for each and what you CAN’T DO. After about 25 or 30 minutes or something it was break time. We had Ritz Bites I think. After that we all finished and we had a regular day, then we went home.

April 26, 2007 Thursday 4th day of W-A-S-L (Math session 2). Today is going to be fun and when it was time for W-A-S-L (W-A-S-L stands for Washington Assessment of Student Learning). We started the W-A-S-L. After about 20 to 30 minutes it was snack time, we had cookies and fruit rollups. After that we all finished. Then I went home after all that.

April 27, 2007 Friday 5th day of W-A-S-L (Math session 3). Today is the last day of the W-A-S-L. It better be fun. My last thought for the W-A-S-L is… HAPPY! Because it is finally over & something funny was that I thought that it was going to be hard but it wasn’t so I told myself “I was afraid of this!” After we started it seemed just as easy as all of the other math sessions it seemed. In the middle of the test it was break time we had bar things. They were very good. Then we all finished, did a regular day and went home.

(Real trying to make money>) Now that I’m older I once tried to make money. It turned out I found signs. We sold black berries! It was fun. We got over $40 doing it. $.$ Then I split the money, and we all got about $10.

The O-possum, a Raccoon and now an Eagle

Article posted May 13, 2007 at 07:12 AM GMT0 • Reads 219

Last Friday I was at play group. It was at my friend's house. He had his cousins over. We watched a movie and we played capture the flag a few times. We also played a D.K game with a drum thing but it was fun even though I didn't do much of the playing. After all that fun, it was time to go home.

When we were driving home dad noticed something black, white and gray. I asked, "What is that?" Dad said that it was a, "O-possum" It was so cool! Dad also said that it was a medium size one so it was probably a young adult. After that we went home.

The End

A few days later we saw a raccoon and about at 6:30 about when we were driving to a fishing place. I helped put the fishing poles together and I gave people bait. and all kind of stuff that you need to catch a rainbow trout! Then all of a sudden a eagle comes out of a tree and looks around for some fish. It sees them but is afraid to come and that is the end of my stories.

Camping Trip Time

Article posted May 29, 2007 at 12:03 AM GMT0 • Reads 269

Hi my name is Casey. I am 9 years old. I just recently went to “Lincoln Rock State Park”. It is a wonderful place to stay for your weekend I think. I like “Lincoln Rock State Park” because they have the Columbia river and they sort of made it a pool. Plus also they have a wide-open pool as well. They also have an open part of the river which is for docking the boats and jet skis. Also when you want to play with them all you do is untie them and jump on and away you go! But any way when we got in the car it is hours and hours to get there! That was not fun either.

When we got there we had so much fun until it was time to go to bed. The next day we rode the inner tubes and it was fun! After that we found in island and we built a sand castle, it fell over. Then I went and ate food and then my friends wandered off and then when I looked up I was scared. I didn’t know where my friends were? So I followed their tracks, I could not find them. I went looking for a grown up. I found my dad. I told him the news. He followed me and we talked. After a long time we found them and they were playing on a sand bar. I couldn’t wait to see them again! So I rushed right over. I was so scared. So I told them it was time to go back to the beach and then my dad said, “You guys can stay here for now but when the bar is almost under water come back.” We said, “OK” and then we played. Soon the grown ups came over here and said, “Time to go”. Then we got washed up and got in the boat and went to our camping site we got dinner, washed up and went to bed.

The next morning we did the same thing just we didn’t go to the sand bar and we didn’t go away from the grown ups. Then we played and played and then went back to the boat and went to the site. The next day my friend came. He was late, he said he got in a car accident. He said a guy was going the wrong way on the high way. So they stayed in the hotel near them I think? Then they got there the next morning right when we were about to leave. He liked the Jet Ski the most. I think that because he likes to ask, “ Can I ride the jet ski?” Then we went home.

On my mind today is my grandma. She is visiting the class today. She is my mom's mom, but I think she comes from Oahu. I think but she is very nice. But she is also an expert on sewing and planting too.

I am also thinking about the reading thing, I have read 2 books. I have read Dandy and the Dinosaur and Pocahontas they are both good stories, I think… But anyways I hope I read 16 or even 100 books! Over the summer. But that will be hard I think well I’m hoping I can read at least 20 books!

My Grandma Is Coming!

Article posted June 6, 2007 at 06:16 PM GMT0 • Reads 198

My weekend went great! On Friday my grandma came over! She was here when I was at home. But before that I was swimming at my friend’s house with playgroup. When it is hot my friend says, “ maybe for playgroup we can go to my grandmas pool.” It is going to be great! So we did that and had a great time until we had to close up the pool. That was not fun. But we did that too. Then we al got ready to go home and we all changed our clothes. Then we went home, when we were home we turned on the T.V. We watched, “Sailor Moon.” Then the cell phone rang, none of us heard it until mom did and called, “Dad pick the cell phone up!” Then mom got out of the bath and got ready to pick up grandma.

About My Blog and Other blogs

Article posted June 7, 2007 at 08:53 PM GMT0 • Reads 351

Chapter 1

My stories

Why I think I or a lot of people should keep their blogs. 1st because I have a lot of stories like the “About Me” and my newest one called, “My Grandma Is Coming” it was published today, June 6, 2007.

I think that my best best BEST story was… well I’m going with, “How to Make Sweetbread.” I chose that one because I like my mom's home made bread well sweet bread. She makes her sweet bread with her bread machine.

She also makes her pizza too with everything that you could put on a pizza. But if I make my own pizza then mine will have no cheese, I don’t like cheese. That is sad to say though.

Chapter 2

Comments

Comments are great! That is a reason you should keep your blog. That is if you like to get comments. A lot of people in my class love comments. That is a good reason.

Chapter 3

Me!

I also think that you should keep a blog because you could tell about yourself and it would be o.k. I think the blogs are very fun. I think that because you can do cool stuff like a ninja, a squirrel, a wizard and a lot of other stuff. It is cool.

Other Blogs

Chapter 1 about him or her

I think that you could learn about many people in different countries. You could learn about their lives and what they might want to be when they grow up maybe?
