Seeing Celste



We found out that this girl that can’t come to our class because she has cancer. Mr. Crosby’s idea was putting Celste the girl though skype. Skype is a web site where you can see and hear people and people can see and hear you. So some people donated money for the computer. We needed the modem , new phone line and a web cam. The we learned about leukemia then Mr.Crosby tested the connection at 12:35pm 1/24/07. I felt happy because we get to see her.

Risley Soccer Game

Today we played a soccer game in Sun Valley. We went on a bus to the soccer game. The field was not like ours it was all bumpy and the grass was yellow. The goalie boxes are small. The game started. On the 5th minute Andrea made the first goal everyone yelled. The ball went to the middle and the other team got the ball. 10 minutes later the other team made a goal the coach got mad! He threw his hat. On the third quarter our team made a goal. On the fourth quarter the other team made a goal. The game was over and we to school.

I want to go to Great America because last time I went on a ride that felt like somebody was pushing you. I went on a ride where you sit on a swing and it lifts you up and spins you in circles. I played lots of games and in each one I won a prize. In Great America I saw Jimmy Neutron, Sponge Bob, Gary and Dora. My little sister wanted to go on a Dora ride. I had to go with my little sister and it was boring. After that my Dad and I went on a water ride. When we came out we were soaking wet. After that we went on something like the cable car to a 4-D movie of Sponge Bob.

A camera crew came on Monday to record some of us for Skype. The things that they brought were 4 bright lights, a camera, and some microphones. They interviewed Mr.Crosby, Celest, and Alex. When they were interviewing Mr.Crosby we were practicing our math facts on our laptops. We used a tripod, a camera, a computer Goggle Earth, and Skype. They had Gary as the camera person, Bill as the sound person and Ray as the Director/ Producer. After that they went to Celest’s house to see the view from there.

Yes, I do celebrate Halloween When I first went outside there were not many people. My little sister Karely is 4 years old and she was Tinkerbell. I didn’t dress up. The first house we went to had a green spider web and a smoke machine. When the smoke machine burst out smoke Karely got scared. We went on walking to a house that had a frog that made noises when you walked past it. When my Mom was going to ring the door bell she got scared because there was a spider next to the doorbell. It was on a Sunday the sun shining bright. We were playing the finals. It was us “Zorros VS Dolphins”. My friend Alex was getting ready. We dyed are hair red and white. We entered to the court they anounced our names. We got in our positions. The referee blew the whistle the game started. A few minutes went by and the other team scored. The other crowed was screaming. I was playing as middle and they put me as defense. I wasn’t playing that good. The referee blew the whistle it was half-time. Are coach was talking to some kids some of the kids were crying even me because we were loosening. We went back to the field the game had started. I played for 15 minutes an then they took me out. Alex’s cousin Migule scored a goal everyone was exited. The other team almost scored it hit the top post. The game was over it was a tie. We went to penalty kicks. Each team picks 5 people to shoot. They were Alex, Oscar, Pony, Miguel, Giovanni. Oscar was up first he got ready he kicked it and he made it. The other team shot the goalie blocked it. Pony was up next he shoots it as hard as he could he made it. The other team was going to shoot the goalie blocked it again. Alex went up he shoots he scores. If they miss it and we make it we win. The other team went up they missed. Migule went up he made it we won! Everyone started to scream. Later they gave us trophies.

When I played in my first soccer game I played in a team called “Dragons”. You could say that we weren't the best team. Sometimes we will make some goals once in a while. We were in last place that year. Then the next year most of us went to “Zorros” the soccer team. When I played in that team I had made 6 or 7 goals that year. Alex and Roberto was in that team. Both of them made allot of goals. That year it was hot and we had black uniforms. The next year I was still in that team 2 people left but we got 2 new kids. They were twins. They were pretty shy at first but when we tord the end of the year they started to talk. The next year we won the Championship.

Maniac was a good person. When he lived with the Beales he will do the dish’s without Mrs. Beales telling him to do them. Then this guy told him to go back to the west end that's where the white people are. But he didn’t go back. So to get revenge they wrote on the Beale’s house and that’s when he ran away so that would not happen to the Beale’s any more. He was sleeping at the Buffalo pen that night at the Zoo. When he woke up he met this guy named Grayson that worked there. Grayson took him to the band shell to stay. On Christmas Grayson gave Maniac his Baseball mitt that he use when he struck out Willie mays. After Christmas Grayson was dead. Maniac didn’t recognize that Grayson was dead because most days he will him up and there will wake him up and there will be Butter scotch kripets and tea on the table. So he went where he was sleeping and tried to wake him up he was motionless and speechless so he touch his hand. It was cold as ice

Have you ever had someone break into your classroom? When I went to go leave my backpack I saw this guy he was at the window. Paul and Everth and I were wondering why he was there? When the bell rang to go to the classroom I saw like little pieces of ice so I picked one up and it wasn’t Ice it was glass. So when Mr. Crosby came he said that someone had broken in are classroom and stole stuff. When we went in the classroom there was glass everywhere in the front of the room to the back of the room. I saw the globe on the ground it was broken on the bottom. The good thing that they didn’t steel our laptops or our TV. I think that they stole in the middle of the night. They just stole a cable and some food.

Do you want to hear about the best day ever. One day I woke up and my uncle had four tickets to a 49ers on Saturday. So I went to school two days I could not wait to go. When I woke up it was Saturday we went to sacramento to pick up my uncle's friend. We picked him up in about two hours from there we went to SanFrancisco. It took us about three hours to get there. We made it but we still had to find a parking space. The game almost started we got off the car we ran to the Stadium. We gave the guy are tickets and we went in we had to go to the other side. We ran as fast as we can when we made it there they barley kicked the ball. The Chargers received the ball. The first quarter was over and I ate a churoo really fast. The second quarter had started. It was the 49ers ball and they got intercepted and the Chargers made a touchdown and a field goal. The Chargers kicked the ball the 49ers ran to the 50 yard line the quarterback past the ball 20 yards the guy kept on running and he made a touchdown. People started to scream. They made the field goal too. It was half-time the band played and they had a contest who ever makes it in the back of the track gets $1,000. Only two out of five made it in the back of the truck. The teams came out and they kicked off. The 49ers intercepted the ball 2 times they made another touchdown they also made a field goal. Then the Chargers made two touchdowns there was 2 minutes left and the 49ers lost. that was the best day ever.

When I first found out that my Cousin Alvin was going to move to Texas I was worried because there is alot of tornados over there. But he told me that there going to move were therr is no tornados.

They were building a house was done like in June.

Two weeks before they were going to move they started to pack up their stuff to get ready to move to Texas.

The day before they were going to move we had a party Because they were giong to move. When the party was over we said goodbye to my aunt and uncel and Alvin and his two brothers.

3 months later my aunt and uncel came to vist. But they didn’t bring Alvin and his two brothers they did bring pictures in his new school.

Today we were playing soccer in the snow when we kicked the ball we will slip and fall down or slide. We will get covered in snow sometimes or get wet. I fell realy hard on my back I got wet. When the bell rang to go to lunch I was slideing on the snow like a penguin. When I went to the lunchroom I could not see my shoes because they were coverd in snow. I had to spend 5 minutesto wipe off the snow off my shoes. Whenit was second recces there was more sliping and slideing. When They will slide tackle I will fall harder then the last time.

When you are done with your story proofread it. If you found mistakes. Fix the mistakes.

Then put your finger on each word but read it really carefully. Do it again but only put your finger on capital letters. Then put your finger on punctuation marks.

Read it over carefully and look for correct English. ( dose it sound right? ).

When you are done Print to check again. Do the same thing like put your finger on each word, capital letters, and punctuation marks.

Fix mistakes on laptop if you want to you can double space your story.

One day I went to practice and this kid and I went for the ball but I hit the ball wrong then I felt pain in my leg. I went home my dad thinks that I moved my nerve. At night my dad got a towel and soaked it in hot water he left it there for 20 second that water was hot. When I went to sleep my dad put Hot and Cold cream on my leg and covered it up. I was sore for three days but on Saturday I had to play soccer. My coach told me that I had to play. So I went in the field and went to go play soccer. My dad told me that I played really good my coach said that too.

Today we learned about Space. We did a project about it. We learned that the fastest thing on Earth is the light. Light travels at 186,000 mps. The light can travel around the Earth 7 times in one second. It takes less than 2 seconds to go to the Moon.

Alpha Centauri is the second closest star it is 25 trillion miles that is 158,500 years to get there. It takes 4 years to go to that star at the speed of light.

The Sun is the closest star a star is a ball on burning gas. When you look at it you are really looking at it where it was 8 minutes ago.

VV Cephei is the largest star seen in Space.

Have you ever seen a lunar eclipse?

One day our teacher told us that there was going to be a lunar eclipse the next day at 6:00pm. He gave us a paper that had the time that the lunar eclipse was going to happen.

As soon as I got home I told my mom and dad that there was going to be a lunar eclipse.

In the morning I went to school with my friend Everth. I asked him if he was is going to see the lunar eclipse today. ”I don’t think we are going to see it because there are a lot of clouds,” Everth said. When we got to school I asked Alex, Roberto, and Lorenzo if they were going to see the eclipse they said, “maybe”. I was so exited to see the eclipse. At 6:00 I saw some clouds that were red-orange. The second time I looked outside I saw The Moon for a minute and that's it, it was really cold.

I was walking home one day when I saw a bird far off in the distance flying my direction. As it got closer I noticed it didn’t look like any bird I had ever seen. It kept flying towards me and to my amazement it zoomed thought it was cool, but it also made me very nervous. Then it bent its neck to look me straight in the eye and suddenly I blacked out for a second. And the bird flew away I continued to walk home. When I got home I felt like I was going to faint and I felt sick. When I woke up to go to school I was blind from my eye because the bird pecked at my eye. I got ready for school. A ll the kids started laughing at me. I ran to my class room and told my teacher. My teacher started laughing too. I ran as fast as I can to my house. One day on May 6, 2008 I went to the store and at the store I bought a box of Capri Suns, some bread, and ham.

On Wednesday I woke up to make my lunch I had a, sandwich, Uncrustables, a Tangerine, and a Capri Sun. For a snack I had some Takis.

When I was walking to school I went to Everths house to weigh my lunch and it was 18oz and it had to be 22oz. Everth’s mom made it weigh 22 oz. Everth, Paul, and I were walking to school. When we made it to school they gave us are Marsopolis Link- up day journal. We left in 40 minutes. Then we went on the bus.

When I was on the bus I sat at the very back 2 fourth graders were next to me. Miguel, Everth, Paul, and I were eating Hot Cheetos in the bus.

When we got to the Reno Livestock Event Center. We got off the bus and went inside I saw alot of kids there at Marsopolis. We put our projects on a table. Then we sat down a man was welcoming us to Marsopolis.

He told the Challenger people to go to their stations, the Valley Maranaris to go to their stations, and Olipis Mons to go to their stations.

We all met with our group in Olympussy Mons and we started to build our habitat. We lay out the bottom of the habitat. [ Which was plastic]

Next we put the sides, we taped the sides to the bottom. Next we put the top up and made two other sides. We started to tape the sides to the top. When we got to the other side somebody went into check if there was any holes in the habitat. We started to tape the others sides together. We got a fan to put air in but when we turned it on it didn’t spin because it was hitting a wire inside the fan. We asked a man if he can get us another fan he said yes.

5 minutes later he came with a fan. Then started to make the tunnel when we finished the tunnel we taped it together and taped it to a hole in the habitat.

We forgot to make a hole in the habitat so he can get out so we gave him sizers through a hole that we found he started to make a hole on the side of the habitat.

We all went inside we tried to touch the top of the habitat. We taped the hole.

Next we started to work on our journals.

They called us to the middle and they told us to eat our lunch outside of our habitat. Everth’s habitat was right next to mine so we sat together Tyler was sitting next to us so was Alondra.

After lunch they called us to the middle of the floor and he said that all the groups that had ones were going to present there systems while the groups that had tow’s stayed seated to watch rock videos. When they played the rock videos it was'nt really rock videos they were made up songs about Mars. We saw about 5 videos.

When all the presentations were done they called everyone to the middle of the floor and we switched. They saw the videos and we did are presentations we got our system on the back table and we went to the habitat first. The kids from Alice Taylor School they did recreation and they did there presentaion Then the kids from Boucher class they did Transportation. When they were done we were up next we were really nervous. We did are presentation of transportation. Then they told us that we could look at the other habitat.

They called us to the middle of the room and they told the tunnel tecks to stay in and the rest to go outside and play. Are class and Mr. Taylor’s went outside to play while the tunnel techs were connecting the habitats together. We were playing Telephone outside, it gose like this. Mr. Crosby says something to the first person in the line and then he pass is it on if the person at the other side gets it right we win but we lost. The words were Mars has a atmosphere of cabon dioxide. Then we had a race we got in five lines and we ran to Mr. Taylor and back and we had to tag the next person in line They called us to go inside and the tunnel techs were done. We were going to do the walk through. We went in the habitat. Then we went through another on and on. We were done. Then we sat down are friends system was crushed. They told us to get to back away because a kid had a big bump on his head. They called the hospital to come when the ambulance came they took him to the hospital. The bus came for us 10 minutes later and we went back to school we left are systems in the classroom and we.

One day we wanted to go to Wild Island so my aunt went to get some tickets at the UNR. She had to buy 21 tickites because thats how many people were going. Then we had to pay her back for the tickets. We were going to Wild Island on a Saturday but I had a game on Saturday so I didn't go. So, I woke up and I thought that we were going today because I thought that today was Saturday. Then my mom told me that we were not going until Saturday and today was friday. So then we went to go eat tacos at a restaurant in the morning. I got 4 tacos and a shrimp cocktail I did’nt finish it. After that we went to rent a movie at Blockbuster. I got The Super hero Movie. When we got home I started to watch the Movie I saw some people that came out in the movie on tv. I went to sleep after that at 11 at night. When I went to bed I fell right to sleep and I had a dream. Then my mom interrupted me and she woke me up and she told me that today was Saturday. So I got my shorts and sandals and we left to Wild Island at 11:00 am. We were only going for a while like 2 hours the first ride was the Scorpion four times. Then I went to the waves I spend 45 minutes there and I went to the Lazy River for the rest of the days. After that we left to go eat tacos again.

Hi I am going to write 7 things about me. I like to play soccer because that is my favorite sport and mostly everyone in my family plays it, and it keeps me running. You should never have pictures of you on a public web page. What if your friend put your name under it on Flicker and somebody puts your name on Google, and they could find out your phone number, and address. Then somebody could find your house and kidnap you or do other things. That’s why you should not have photos on a web page.



Do you have a picture of you at your school that is showing your school name on the internet? If you do I think you should take it off because strangers could find out where you go to school and kidnap you and do bad things to you.



You should never have a map of your house on the internet. What if somebody like a bad person sees the street name and he or she wait’s for you in a car in front of your house until you come out and the gets you and takes you somewhere else. Those are three things on how to be safe on the internet.

It all started when I went to sleep I took a shower, I brushed my teeth then I went to sleep I slept like I have never slept in a long time. When I woke up it was Christmas eve my mom told me that we where going to the mall because my little sister wanted to see Santa.  So she could to ask for presents but they don’t really come. 

Before we do all of that we had to eat breakfast and we went to I Hop it was tasty I had french toast with syrup and a cup of hot chocolate I’m not sure.

 My mom had a grand slam, my sister had a jr. grand slam think, and my dad had a New York steak When we got done eating we went to the mall to meet santa. So we were going to the mall and it was a pretty short drive to there. So when we got there we went to go look for a space so we can park we found one right away. So we got off the car and we went in we started to walk to where Santa was and nobody was there except for us. That was strange so my little sister went to sit on Santa lap meanwhile a elf went up to me and grabbed my hand and took me into a room and when I looked it was the North Pole I saw Santa walk into the door too. He asked me if I could be his reindeer. I had no idea what was he talking about. He told me that one of his reindeer had broken his foot while training. I said but I am not a reindeer. Then I will turn you into one said Santa. Fine but let me ask my parents. No don’t tell them why I asked because if you do you would be my elf forever okay, okay, okay I won’t tell them. Now go home and do what ever you are going to do and at 8:00 I am going to pick you up to be my reindeer. Find them I’m going home when I got out I said to my self that was weird. When I went up to my mom and and dad they said what was that about I repeatedly said nothing. Later we went to champs to buy shoes. We had to go to a toy store to buy my little sister a toy. My parents said that we were going to got to the Buffet in the Eldorado casino. So we went to our house and we got ready to got to the Buffet. When we got done we ran to the car and blasted off to go eat, not really. When went in we were the first ones there to eat and when we paid people started to come in. We did not want to eat that much because later in the day we were going to go to my grandmas house to eat mexican food. So, when everybody in my family was done eating we went to my grandmas house. It was 2:00 and Santa did not come until 8:00 so I had enough time. When we made it to my grandmas we started to eat but not that much. When we all got done we stayed there for like an hour. I went to my uncles room and we played play satiation. Later my mom can to my room and we had to home. On the way home I saw a little airplane and Santa was in it. When we made it to are house Santa was in my room and I told him to hide. Later my parents went to sleep and Santa put something on them so they can wake up in the morning. So Santa and I went on the airplane and we went to the North Pole at warp speed. In the airplane he was turning me into a reindeer I looked at my fingers and just like that they became hooves, my head hurted and I was growing antlers and I scream as loud as I can, I grew hair and my back became straight and my nose grew bigger. We got off at the North Pole and got everything ready and we went to go give the presents the the little kids all around the world. my house was last and we went in the house and he changed me back. I woke up and it was just a dream.
