Getting My Motorcycle

It all started when there was a call. I answered and it was all quiet on the other end. All I could hear was this is what the screaming person said “pick up this mess” I knew who it was it was my aunt. I knew it was her because my aunt is always screaming at Alexis because he leaves a big old smelly mess. Suddenly I heard Alex say “HELLO Cynthia I called to let you know I got a MotorCycle and were going to use it and we are inviting you and your brother”. I’ll ask my dad” I said. And I did and he said “YES we could go” we left and my dad liked it. A few hours later we went home.





A few weeks later my brother got his Motor Cycle. 1 month later I went with my mom to the store. She bought a dress. My mom and I went home and we watched TV. Then I heard my cousins Alex and Marco and I also heard my brother Ricky shouting and saying “ Cynthia is going to love this.” They went inside and said “we have a surprise for you.” I went out to the garage and there standing in the sunlight was a yellow dirt bike and next to that was my quad. The yellow one my uncle bought it for my cousin Marco and I was so happy and that's how I got my MotorCycle. by Cynthia

FRIDAY THE 13

Today is FRIDAY THE 13 and at Roller Kingdom Jason is going to be there but I don’t want to go I’ll tell you why.

1) I’m to scared to go to the bathroom that’s in my class. But I still went in because it was an EMERGENCY=http://!!! A real bad one so I just went in. When I flushed the toilet the sound scared me. I almost screamed, but I didn't. When I was at the door of the bathroom I felt like my heart was going to come out of my throat. I felt like I just dry swallowed a pillow I hate FRIDAY THE 13. I hate it. Here comes number 2.

2) I Hate FRIDAY THE 13 because everybody is trying to scare you.

3) I hate FRIDAY THE 13 mostly because of the night. Those are all the reasons why I don’t like Friday the 13=http://!!! Ha, ha, ha=http://!!!!

Camera Crew

On October 15, a camera crew came to my class. Celest spent the whole day at her house because she had to be on the computer for the camera crew to video tape her for a movie. The camera crew video taped things that Mr. Crosby did. Sometimes they had him do things over. They set up four lights to make the room a little brighter. The camera crew guys were interviewing people, one of them was Mr. Crosby. They were also recording sound. The objects that they used, were cameras, microphones, lights, a lot of wires and also a tripod. All the guys had different jobs. One had to video tape, another one had to hold the hanging microphone and another one was directing. One of the things they filmed were our reactions. Mr. Crosby showed us Google Earth and the director wanted Mr. Crosby to show us other things on Google Earth so he could film them. They were also video taping Celest on the computer and us on our laptop blogging, going on Funbrain and doing math. That is what happened when the camera crew came to my class.

I give thanks because I have a family, clothes and shoes. I also give thanks for being alive and having food and water. I give thanks to God for giving us a roof to sleep under and a bed to sleep in. I give thanks to God because I can go to school. I have learned throughout the years that some people don’t have a roof or food. Some people have none of the things I just named. Thats why I give thanks to God for having all the things I have.

Who Broke In My Class

Have you ever had something stolen? Today I came to school the bell rang and Karla told me that our classroom had been broken into. Mr. Crosby opened the door and told us about it. He took us in the class and showed us some pictures of the broken window. I imagined the people throwing rocks making the biggest sound in the world BBAANNGG, BBOOMM and going in looking for money. There were small pieces still laying on the ground. We saw more pictures of broken glass. It looked like leaves piled on each other. The window looked like upside down waves. The rock was sitting where my classmate sits. The blinds had a hole in them. They looked like an eye, barely opened. They had not stolen anything expensive they took the wire for the camera but in the classroom next door they stole a camera. When I saw the glass on the floor it looked like something had exploded in there. I would have never expected that somebody would break our window and come in.

Lip Gloss

I was in the shower I was singing so loud that my mom told me to quiet down. I sounded terrible. I went to the kitchen. When I got there my mom asked me “want to go to the mall?” I said “Of course you never see me say no to that question!!” So we went to the mall. I saw a lip gloss that had written on it VERY POWERFUL in big letters. I asked my mom “can you buy me that?” She asked “how much is it?” I said quickly “1.00” she sighed. She said “do I have another choice?”

So we went home I put on the lip gloss and pretended like if I was a singer and I started to sing. I sounded so good. My mom went to my room she asked me “whose CD are you listening to?” I said “that was not a CD.” We stayed quiet for a moment.



A couple of days later we went to a studio where they make CDs. I told them “I know how to sing.” They started laughing. I said “really” I started to sing. They were amazed. When we got home I went to my room and hid the lip gloss. From that day on I was rich and famous.

The Best Gift

One day I saw an IPOD on TV. I loved it. I asked my Mom “Can I have that for Christmas?” She asked why don't you ask Santa Claus so I did. Then the next day my Mom told me, “You can have it if it is for you and your brother. So I said “ok.” I was waiting so much for Christmas.

It was finally the day. The best day ever CHRISTMAS!!!!I saw a present that was the right size to be the IPOD.

I shook it but there was no sound. My mom always likes to open the present's at midnight because its the next day. We waited and waited until it was 10 seconds before 12:00. So I asked my Mom “Can we count down?” She said, “sure why not.” We started to count down “10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2..1=http://!!!” We all started ripping open the presents.

When we were done we all started trying on things and opening toys. I had saved the one that looked the size of the IPOD so my brother and I ripped it open and it was skin for the IPOD. There was another present and we opened it and it was the IPOD. When I saw it I hugged my Mom and Dad and I was as happy as I could be. That is the best gift I’ve ever gotten. What's the best gift you have ever gotten or given?

The Best Day Ever But The Worst Night Ever

The day of my sleepover was the best day ever. But one thing happend at night. It was the best day ever but it was the WORST night ever. It all started when I woke up in the morning I was so exited. It was the day of my sleepover party. My mom and I went to the store and bought a piñata and some candy. We went home and stuffed the piñata with candy. Then my cousin Maleny came. We got in the pool. Then I came out of the pool and took a shower and everybody started getting there. We played games and broke the piñata. After that my cousins dad threw me in the pool!!!I was soaking wet. I stayed outside to dry off. Then my mom told me to open my presants, I did. Next I went inside to change into other clothes and went outside to jump in the jump house. Then It was time to go to sleep. We slept in the living room and we watched a movie. It was John Tucker Must Die. Then we turned off the TV and went to sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night and heard someone crying. I turned on the light and it was my friend. She started crying so loud. She called her dad he said he wouldn’t pick her up. She kept us awake until 5:00 in the morning. Then her Dad finaly picked her up and we all fell back asleep.

The Book I Read About Maniac Magee

This year I read a book about a kid who's parents die and no place like home is the same to him. So let me tell you what I have learned from the book Maniac Magee. I have learned from Maniac that you should treat others how you want to be treated. I’ve also learned to care about others not only your self. I could name one hundred things that Manic shows that he cares about others but I will only name a couple. Maniac becomes friend with a guy named Grayson. One day Grayson dies and Maniac is the only one at the funeral. A few days later Maniac makes up a story about a kid to make him look good infront of his brothers. Maniac also does stunts for two kids as long as they go to school. Maniac also helps his friend Amanda’s mom pick up in the kitchen with out being told. He also leaves Amanda’s house so they wont get hurt because where this story takes place theres an eastside and a west side on one side live the black and on the other side live the white and each kind hate each other. Maniac is white and Amanda is black but Maniac and Amanda and her family get along with everyone but a few people hate Maniac on the black side so he leaves. Maniac also unties knots from little kids shoes and unties cobbles knot. If Maniac was in the real world I would of certainly rewarded him. Do you think Maniac is a nice kid?

When I Went To On A Trip To Texas With My Cousin

When I got to Texas with my cousin Maleny and my cousins husband Tony, my Aunt Lorena asked us if we wanted to eat so we said, “yes.” We ate chilaquiles. Chilaquiles are a kind of Mexican food that has tortilla and chilly.

After we were done eating my aunt told us after she was done picking up we might go to the pool. So after a while she finished picking up so we went to the pool. We had a blast at the pool.

Then we went home. We drank milk and went to sleep.

The next day we went to Six Flags we had a blast. We got on a ride called the gully washer. My cousin and I got soaking wet.

After we all got wet. I wanted to get on a ride called the roadrunner but my cousin Maleny didn't want to get on with me until I convinced her and we got on. It was super fun. You could tell my cousin was having a blast but at the same time you could tell she was scared. I had a blast at Texas with my cousin.

Fix Your Story

Here are the steps to how to write a story. First you have to write a story. After that you proofread. Then you look for punctuation like periods capital letters and camas. After that read your story word by word. Also look for names that need to be capitalized. After you’ve done that make a telephone with your hand so that you don’t miss any mistakes. If your typing your story on a computer spell check it. If you are writing it on a piece of paper read it carefully and use a dictionary. After that correct english mistakes and ask your self does it sound right. Proofread over and over until your sure you don’t have any mistakes. That's the way to write a story. P.S. be sure to write a title and indent the first sentence.

Privilges To Blogging

If I couldn't blog anymore I would feel sad and angry because most schools can’t blog. I think every student should have the privilege to blog because you learn a lot about blogging. You learn to write better story's, correct mistakes and you can learn how to read better.

I like blogging because you can leave comments. You leave comments to tell people how you feel about there writing and if your comment is inappropriate your teacher won’t let it go on.

Students should blog because they can tell people what happens at there school and outside of school. If anyone takes the privilege of blogging away from students. I will fight for blogging until we get it back.

God Father/mother

When I was barley born my mom picked a godmother/Godfather for me. Then my godmother/godfather moved to chicago when I was about 1 year old. Sense that day I haven't seen my godmother/godfather. I asked my mom if i’m ever going to meet her she always says “no”. This summer I’m going to Mexico and my mom told me something very exiting. Here is the good news In might see her at Mexico. So I got really exited when I found out about the good news. So sense that day I’m really exited of going to Mexico. My favorite aunt is going with us to Mexico so my aunt told me that when she goes she going to tell her that why didn’t she ever call me and be mean to her. So I don’t know what’s going to happen at mexico.

We have learned throughout the years that light is the fastest thing we know of. It travels 186,000 mps (miles per second). light goes 669,600,000 mph. It can go around the earth seven times in one second.

Alpha Centauri is the next closest star to earth it is 4.37 light years away. We could never go to Alpha Centauri it is to far. Imagine how big space is because Alpha Centauri is our next door neighbor in in our solar system.

The sun is a star.

The sun is a big ball of burning gas. The sun is to hot for us to go there.

Pluto is the smallest planet. If you compare the biggest known star VV Cephei to pluto next they look like a piece of dust next to a Soccer field.

Stars are a big ball of burning gas. Some stars are much bigger than the sun. You think the sun is the biggest star well its not, there are much bigger stars than the sun.

If all that is our solar system imagine how big space is if there are more Galaxys that you can count.

Information About Being Safe On The Internet

It’s very disappointing that you kids don’t get to blog, but they didn’t block it because they are mean people but because they care about you.

A Message To Parents About Blogging

Blogging is important because you learn to read because you read your comments and learn from the mistakes you did. You also learn to write stories because you are also learning from the mistakes you did and you can spell check and edit them. You can learn to spell better because you leave comments and write story's because you make mistakes and somtimes your teacher corrects them and explains your mistake. You can also be safer by telling other people what happens around your neighborhood and give people and kids advice of what to look out for.

Safety Tips For Children On The Internet

Blogging can be safe and it can be dangerous but for children in classes its safe. Its safe because your teacher can block anything that has any personal information. Just don’t give any information like your name, address, the schedule when your alone, your phone or last name.

Conclusion

I think kids really need blogs for their education!!!

Scary Field Trip

We had just sat down on the school bus that was taking us on our field trip when the bus driver stood up, turned around and in a loud voice said, “ We are not going on the trip you thought we were. Your class has won a trip to a very special place.”

The next thing we knew some kind of gas started to spray from the ceiling and we all fell asleep in our seats. When we woke up hours later we found out we had been taken to a withes house the bus driver was a mean person. They put us in a cage like rats in a cage. Acually there was rats on the floor crawling between our feet.

There was a toilet right in the cage where everyone could see you. I had to go pee really badly but I was inbarressed that evryone would see me so I told them to turn around. I walked to the toilet and there were worms on it I flicked them off. Then I wnet pee. After that I saw a ghost right by the window. I freaked out! I ran to the window with a pan and started to try to beat it to death. I relized I was trying to kill a ghost and they do not die. So I closed my eyes and counted to ten when I opened my eyes he was gone. when I walked to one of the corners of the cage I was so scared I thought I saw another ghost but it was just myself on one of the bars. One of the kids in my class asked where are we? I could tell that the kid was scared too. The door creaked open and out came a witch. All the kids screamed loud. The witch just cackeled and said “I will turn all you kids into my servents.” Then she went to a wall and pressed a secret button. Out poped a big pot with bubbly green stuff in it. then she started to put more potions in the pot. The stuff in the pot was starting to turn different colors every time she put a potion in. She made us drink it and we had servant clothes on we had turned into her servants . Afer we heard a siren outside we looked outside the window it was the police they were there to save us. They took the bus driver and the witch to jail. we lived happily ever after.

I've Turned Into A Bird

I was walking home one day when I saw a bird off the distance flying in my direction. As it got closer I noticed it didn’t look like any bird I had ever seen. It kept flying towards me and to my amazment it zoomed right right up to me and landed right on my shoulder. I wasn’t sure what to do. I thought it was cool, but it also made me nervous. Then it bent its neck to look me straight in the eye and suddenley it pecked me and I started to cherp then the next thing you know I was flying in the air. when I looked at my arms I saw feathers! Oh no I thought i’ve turned into a bird!!! I spotted my mom below me on the ground i saw a frown on her face. I could tell she was starting to worry because she didn’t se me around. I stopped flying and swooped down twoards my mom threw the cold breeze. And then my mom saw me and screamed. She asked me what had happend. I told her that a bird pecked me then I was flying! My mom just screamed again! She did not beleive me. I heard her calling animal control. I knew this wasn’t going to be good. As soon as animal control got here the man got out a big gun and as soon as he saw me he had fallen to the ground. My mom got me and tryed to cut one of my feathers off but it hurt so I told her to stop and she did. When i woke up in the middle of the night I was myself again I went back to sleep. When I woke up in the morning I was a bird again. This time my mom took me to the doctor. The doctor gave me a shot next thing you know I was a human again. We came out of the doctor and a bird landed on my moms shoulder and it pecked her I said with a frown on my face “oh no not again.”

Harris Burdick Project

Today we were working on our Harris Burdick storys this is what happend. Tyler and I were Skyping with our partners beacuse we were working on a project that you have to see a picture and write a story so we were partners with two kids in New York. Now I know your wondering how we do a project when were 2500 miles apart? Well we use this thing called Google Doc we can chat with people that know the password to your google doc. Now your wondering what Google Doc is well Google Doc is a place where you can loggin to your Doc and write a story with somone else half way around the country. We chatted through Google Doc. We decided that the lake that shows up on our Harris Burdick picture was going to be called The Haunting Lake. I really like doing this project with them.

MAKING MY LUNCH

On Tuesday night my Mom and I wondered what 22 ounce lunch I could take for lunch on my field trip. We had to take a 22 ounce lunch because it was part of going to Mars you couldn't take that much weight. She suggested to take a Sandwich I said “ok!” But my Mom said “there's one problem we don’t have Sandwich Bread.” So my Mom and I went to the store and bought Sandwich Bread while we were there I saw some Cookies and some Hot Cheethos so I asked my mom “can you buy that for my lunch.” She said “ok.” We got home and my Mom said she would make the Sandwich in the morning. Then I said “but mom we still need to weigh it.” So she got all the things she was going to make the Sandwich with and she put it all together but it didn’t weigh enough. So she added some Lays and I asked “can I take a Cookie in my lunch” she said “yes.” So I stuck the Cookie in my scale and it weighed a little less than 10 ounces so I stuck another Cookie in there but I remembered I had Hot Cheethos so I asked my Mom “can I take some Hot Cheethos.” She said “ok just take something out.” I took out the Cookie and put Hot Cheethos in there. Then I asked “what about my drink.” She said “ok what about a Caprisun” I said “but a Caparisun doesn't weigh 10 ounces” she said “well we will put it in a bottle and get another Caparisun and pour a little bit in until its 10 ounces” so we did. Then we put my lunch in a bag and all of it together weighed 1 pound and 6 ounces it was just right.







GETTING TO SCHOOL

When I got to school we weighed our lunches and talked about what we were going to do over at Marsopolis. So we disguised. Then my group realized that we had forgotten to write a presentation. We quickly wrote one and we were ready to go.

GETTING ON THE BUS

When we walked outside Mr. Taylor's class was already on the bus. We hopped on the bus and the bus driver started going over safety rules. Then we took off in the magic school bus! We rode through the road until I saw where Marsopolis was going to be. We got off the bus and walked through the doors.

GETTING TO MARSOPOLIS

When we were in we saw tons of kids sitting down. We went to go leave our project at our table and I left my backpack on the floor. We went to go sit down. When we sat down my cousin and I saw a teacher that had moved from my school and she saw me and I went to hug her. I sat back down and and we were listening for directions suddenly the guy spoke into the microphone with a big voice.

BUILDING OUR HABITAT

“You can go to your colony and there will be duck tape and the duck tape will give you directions.” So we went and sure enough the duck tape had written on it our group name. We settled and saw our group we started building the habitat. It was pretty hard building our habitat.

At first we messed up because we cut a piece of our plastic that we needed. We were taping and cutting and finally after a few hours our habitat was done. We put the fan to blow the habitat up. I was so exited that our habitat was finished. I ran over to where our stuff were and got a pen to draw on our habitat. Everyone was drawing and drawing.

LUNCH TIME

After that I was starving so finally the guy that worked there said we could go get our lunch. It was a relief. I quickly walked over to our groups backpack and got my lunch and we ate outside of our habitat. I ate with Armando, Jackaline and Rose. I ate a Sandwich, some Hot Cheetos, Lays and two Cookies. I shared all of my lunch with my friends.



OUR PRESENTATION

After we ate lunch we made our presentation which was going to be communication system that my group built to survive on mars. The other groups went first there presentation was pretty cool then it got to our turn our presentation turned out wonderful.

GOING OUTSIDE

When we were done making our presentation we went outside to play games with Mr. Taylor's class. We sat down on the curb of a parking lot and we were playing a game called Telephone. We also played a racing game. After the racing game we played Duck Duck Goose. When we were done playing Duck Duck Goose we saw the Firefighters get there the ambulance got there right after the firefighters. I was wondering why but I would never know. While the ambulance got there we got called back inside. We walked inside and our habitats had been stuck together for us to walk through.





THE WALK THROUGH



When we were walking to get in line to go through the walk through a boy kept pulling my shirt I turned around and I gave him some eyes and he stopped. When I was finally going to get in I saw the tunnel was crowded so I just squished in I walked all the way through. Then it got to a fun part you had to crawl through a tunnel. I slowly got in and started to crawl. When I got to the other side of the tunnel there was no more people. I ran through it. It was pretty fun. I finally got to the end of the tunnel.



GOING BACK TO SCHOOL



When we were done doing the walk through they deflated all of the tunnels we went to go sit down and get our things ready then we were ready to leave and suddenly I saw a kid from Mr. Taylor's class and he had a big bump on his forehead I asked armando “what happened to him” he said “he crashed into another kid.” The ambulance came one last time. They took him home. After that our bus came back to pick us up and we got on the bus and drove back to school. Finally I left home and told my Mom everything about the field trip.

Tree In The The Trail

It takes three complete days to take every wagon up the hill. To take a brake they had to tie a rope on a tree so the wagons won’t go down the hill again. Finally after a few days they got to Santa Fe.

On my summer vacation I went to Texas with my cousin. I really missed my mom and dad and the day we were going back to Reno I woke up and my mom was standing right in front of me. I got up and hugged her. After that a few days passed and we went to the ocean. When we got there we all ran into the water except the grown ups. We used goggles and saw fishes in the water. When we went towards the deep we saw fish. When I got out of the water my cousin and my cousins boyfriend buried me in the sand into the shape of a mermaid. When I was going down to the water through the burning sand I saw a guy selling popsicles and I asked my mom if I could get one she said yes. When I was done eating it I went back in the water. We played sharks. When we were leaving we saw crabs on the floor. Then we went home and took a shower.

TMCC

When I went to TMCC my aunt took me because my mom was at an appointment. We got there but there was a lot of buildings. We could not find where it was going to be until we saw Marcos dad. We asked him if he knew where it was he told us it was around the corner. We got to the door we went in. I went in and sat down. I got my computer out turned it on and started blogging. After that Gissel, Jazmin and I started playing dance mat typing. Then we heard the microphone turn on and the man started talking. My teacher told us to go get lunch. We got in line for the food and It was really good. Then we went to the bathroom and the boys went in the men's room and the girls went in the woman's room. Then we went to go sit back down and we started playing on our computers. After that mostly everyone left and we went to go look around at the other technology.

The Eclipse

I walked outside the first time with my mom I could not see the eclipse because the sky was full of clouds. I went back inside. A few minutes later I walked outside with my brother it was not that cold but I still couldn't see the eclipse. After a while I heard the neighbors saying the moon was orange. I walked into my back yard and I saw it the moon was orange. I told my mom she came out and she saw it. After a few seconds it was getting covered by the clouds again.

Space

Today we were learning about space. There were some things I learned that made my head hurt like that the biggest star which is VV Cephei makes the sun look like a pebble beside a car. There's something that makes my head hurt even more is we cannot go to the second closest star because its about 600,000 years away.

Did you know the fastest thing we know of is light. The speed of light makes airplanes look like a turtle with a broken leg. So learning about space is pretty cool but confuses you.

Snowy day

I walked outside and there was cotton on the ground. I saw my friends playing in the cold white sparkly snow. I went inside and told my mom I was going to play

with my friends. So I went over there and we made a snow slide.

Then we went to the other side of there white yard. then we played snowball fight. My friend and I made snowballs the size of a car. We had gotten soaking wet.

After that we made snow angles. My friend Lucero made them perfect.

When we were finished we played snow pie contest. We would get a chunk of snow and who ever finished it first won.

After that I couldn't stand the coldness so I went inside. Then I got ready to go to my soccer game and we lost two to five. P.S. It was in door soccer.

The Seven Wonders

One is the Channel Tunnel under water between France and England, Nether Lands Sea Protection for no more floods, the Canadian National Tower. There's also the Empire State Building, The Golden Gate Bridge, the Panama Canal and the Itaipu dam.

My Dream Trip To Las Vegas

I dressed up as a devil. I had wings, a fork and horns. I

went Trick-or-Treating to the big houses up the hill. I got

a lot of chocolates, some regular candy but mostly

chocolates. First we went Trick-or-Treated in another neighborhood. Then we went back home and Trick-or-Treated in the area where I live. We earned a lot more candy than we had before. Then we went in our house and handed out candy and pencils then a little girl that was a policeman came to my house and said “twick o tweat” we gave her a handful of candy and a pencil. She went running to her mommy and daddy and said, “Mommy, daddy they gave me a pencil!” Then my mom and I looked at the candy that we had gotten and checked if they were opened. There was none that were opened. The most special thing that happened that night was that I got to spend more time with my Mom and Dad. I love Halloween because you can dress up and have a lot of fun. That's what happened on October 31st, my Halloween.

Mexico Summary

The country of Mexico started with three different tribes, the Olmecs, the Aztecs and the Mayas. The aztecs at one point mysteriously disappeared, the other tribes got killed by either there own tribe or by other tribes. When all of the tribes died there were mexicans living at Mexico. Then the spaniards got there from spain and wanted to take over Mexico. The Mexicans fought for there independence and won. Now September 16 is known as independence day in Mexico.

The Kidnapper



I had nothing to do one day and was really kind of bored, so I went outside and started to walk around the neighborhood. I spotted the friendly dog from next door in his yard playing with a ball. The ball squirted out of his mouth and shot into the street. The dog ran after it just as a car came along and BAM! the car hit the dog. My heart was pounding in my chest as I watched the dog land in the street and the car sped away! I knew I had to do something to help! I ran to the dog and saw that she was still alive and breathing. Her eyes opened and looked up at me. I could tell by the look on her face that she was scared, in pain and wanted help. So I …



ran to the owners house and asked if that was his dog. The guy said yes. He asked me if I could please bring it into his house. I brought the dog into the guys house. Suddenly as I set the dog on the ground I heard the door close and I heard the door lock. I turned around and the guy was standing right there looking me straight in the eyes. He ran to the kitchen and got a rag and a rope. He put the rag over my mouth and tied me with the rope. I thought oh no he's kidnapping me. I turned to look at the door to see if I could escape, but it had a lock on it. I turned to look at the man again and he was putting his... Oh no! I thought it is a mechanical dog. I looked everywhere and I was starting to get dizzy. I didn’t know what to do. The next day I woke up and there were sirens outside. The guy turned on the TV. I saw the picture of me on the news they were looking for me all over the city. Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door and I screamed with the rag over my mouth. The guy told me to SHUT UP! He quickly took me to the room and left to open the door. He opened the door and the police came crashing in! They went in and searched the rooms and saw me. They quickly took off the rag that was over my mouth and took the rope off. They quickly went to the living room where the guy was. When we went he wasn’t there anymore. I went home worrying if the guy would come back to get me. After a few hours we heard from the police and they told us that we don’t need to worry they had found him and took him to jail.

An Invisible Student (At First)

A year ago something happened it was a very special day we skyped Celeste. It was the first time Skyping. Skyping is something you can use to communicate with others through the internet. Today is our 1 year anniversary.

Let me tell you how it happened we did it. One day Mr. Crosby told us we had to write about if we were sick and we couldn’t come to school or go out and play with our friends or we couldn’t have any friends over. How would we feel.

Let me tell you why we did it. After we wrote about how we would feel Mr. Crosby told us why we were writing about that he said that we had a student in our class but we would probably never see her and we were confused. Mr. Crosby explained that by law if you couldn’t go to school that you still had to be signed up in a class. So he told us there was a possibility that we would use something called Skype we were all confused. He explained that Skype is software that you use to communicate with others through the internet. Mr. Crosby said we would use that software to bring Celeste into our class.

How we did it. After that Mr. Crosby started calling people to ask them if they wanted to donate a computer to Celeste. Ms Marlow also wanted to help. Ms. Marlow is our canceler. She also started calling people to donate a computer. When somebody donated the computer we hooked it up at Celeste house. We tried it for the first time. It worked I was glad.

Grizzly Bears

Today I read a book in my reading book that was about grizzly bears. The story takes place in Denali National Park in Alaska. In Alaska the day never ends until fall and when fall starts the bears snuggle in the snow. I learned that grizzly bears eat about 400 ground squirrels a year. Sometimes grizzly bears only eat a salmon's head and if its a mother it eats the eggs. A grizzly bear eats about 200,000 berries in a single day. Mother bears are quite tolerant to other cubs.

I really learned a ton by reading this book. If your interested in reading it, it’s called, The Grizzly Bear Family Book.

Grace Corrigan

We Skyped in students from New York and Virginia because Grace Corrigan, the mother of Christa McAuliffe (teacher in space) came to our class. Skyping is when you use a web camera and you can look at other people over the internet. The video guy was here too, his name was Paul. Grace Corrigan was very polite to us and told us a lot of things that we didn't know. It was very exiting. I asked How old would Christa be if the accident didn't happen. Christian solved a problem, because I asked her how old would Christa be if the accident would not have happened she said she was about 37 at that time and it has been about 21 years since so Christian said about 58. Oh and three other people were here. At the end we took a class picture with Grace. To bad the morning is over.

Grace Corrigan

When I got to school Grace Corrigan was here. Grace Corrigan is the mom of Christa McAuliffe. Christa McAuliffe is the teacher in space but when they were launching into space the rocket exploded and Christa McAuliffe died.

When Grace Corrigan was here I was so exited. We asked her questions. I asked her if she was there when the rocket exploded. She also had a picture of Christa McAuliffe and it was signed by her. She showed us patches that Christa McAuliffe used. She was explaining all the information about what had happened to Christa McAuliffe. She also explained the life that Christa McAuliffe had before she was teacher in space. She also had a video to show us about Christa McAuliffe. The video was very sad and it showed a ton of pictures of Christa McAuliffe. I felt so bad while watching the video. I wanted to cry. I bet Grace Corrigan was feeling even sadder because she was telling us all the things that happened with Christa McAuliffe. When Grace Corrigan was about to leave from our class. We all hurried before she left we all gave her a big hug.

Golden Lion Tamarins

I read a book in class that was about Golden Lion Tamarins. I learned that people sell Golden Lion Tamarins in illegal animal stores for high prices. If these animals are discovered they take the animals away from the sellers and they take these animals back to there habitat.

I also learned that when a Tamarin is raised by a human they take the Tamarin away and can’t release it in to the jungle until it is trained to live in the wild.

I also learned that they paint the Tamarins tails with hair dye so that they can tell them apart.

They call this animal the Golden Lion Tamarind because of its colors and looks.

Scary Adventures From Camping

A Roar



One day we were ready to go camping. We had everything packed in the van. We got in the van and drove off!

When we got there we put our tents up and set all the food on the table! The sun was going down and the stars were starting to come out. Suddenly my Mom heard a bear and was frightened.

My Mom really needed to go to the bathroom but was scared to go by her self! So she asked my Dad to go with her! We saw them leave disappearing into the darkness. I could tell my Mom was frightened and maybe even my Dad but he wasn't showing it. They came back after a few minutes.

It was time to go to bed. I was thinking about the bear all threw the night. I was scared but after a while I fell asleep.



Oh No A Snake



One day we were going camping! I couldn't wait. I was ready to hit the road. One thing I was scared about was bears. It was time to go.

We drove for a few hours. After a few hours we arrived at our destination. Almost all of my cousins were there and in addition, my cousin’s moms part of the family.

My cousin’s grandma went to the bathroom and she came back with a fright on her face. We asked, “What happened?” She responded, “I SAW A SNAKE BY THE BATHROOM.”

My cousin’s dad and my uncle went to go see it. They found it and they were smacking it with a paddle. They thought they killed it and grabbed it by the tail.

They gave it to my older cousin. He was scaring people with it and suddenly it started to move. It was alive and my Dad said, “Just let it go.” And he did. It slithered away into the bushes.



Bats



Another adventure while camping happened not to long ago. It was early in the morning and we left to go camping. I was nervous for another scary adventure to happen. After a while we got to the camp.

It was late that afternoon when we decided to go for a walk out in the wilderness. On our way we saw deer. They were beautiful. After a while we decided to go back.

Then my Mom and Dad decided to go for a walk with my cousin.

My two cousins and I decided to swim across the lake which was small on the side that we swam threw but the rest was big. So we swam with our life jackets. We got to the other side.

My Mom told us they had found a small cave so we went to go take a look. It was pretty small but it was a cave!

We went back to the camp and told everyone else. We settled for a while. Then the others wanted to see all the good views.

My two cousins, my Dad, my uncle and I were all together and all the others were looking at the views somewhere else. We climbed the rocks and found the cave. My Dad asked us if we wanted to take a picture in the small cave. So we did. When we were ready to take the picture, bats flew in and we screamed and ran out.

We climbed more rocks and found the others and told them what had happened. They started laughing.

It was getting dark so we walked back to the camp and on our way to the camp the bats were flying out in the night sky.

When we finally got to the camp it was time to go to sleep. When we were in the tent I thought in my head “You never know what kinds of adventures will happen.”

The Benchwarmers

Gus is a character from the movie Benchwarmers he showed courage in many ways.

Gus was mad because there were kids that bullied other kids! He wanted that to stop so he made a baseball team against the team that the bully's played in. Gus’s team only had three people. His friend Clark and his other friend Richie and Gus. Gus was the only good one in his team. After a few games they won mostly every game.

The kid that was bullied was named Nelson. Nelsons friends were bullied too.

Gus helped Nelson and his friends by bullying the kids that bullied them. That took a lot of courage because the father of the bully was also a bully and could beat gus up.

One day Nelson and his friends found out that when gus was a kid he was a Bully. Nelson and his friends were disappointed in Gus. It took a lot of courage to go against bully's when he knew he used to be a bully. Gus regretted What he had done. Once he even made a kid get sent to institution and the kid never went to school again. The kids name was Marcus. Gus went to Marcus’s house to apologize but Marcus went crazy. So gus left, on his way out he left a hat on the stairs. The hat said gus’s teams name on it.

later in the movie he built a baseball stadium and marcus went to the stadium. Marcus accepted gus's apology. Gus let the kids that were bullied play in the team. Marcus became third base coach.

In one show I like when she tries to get her dad to pay more attention to her because he is paying more attention to the Jonas Brothers because Robby Ray Hannah Montana's dad is writing a song for the Jonas Brothers. At the end Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers work everything out and Robby Ray writes a song for Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers to sing.

I also like the show where Hannah Montana tries to convince her dad to let her go to Florida for a concert to earn money for hunger relief. She also wants to convince her dad to let her go because if she doesn't go her enemy (Selena Gomez) will make fun of her.

Tea Tasting

Today we had tea with biscuits and a fortune cookie because we read an article about tea. The article said where tea came from and every little detail.

The tea had a dark taste kind of like Dark chocolate. At first it tastes like water but at the end it has a dark taste. It kind of smelled like Corundas a kind of Mexican food. We had to drink the tea with our pinkies up.

The biscuits taste like some kind of Mexican cookie I’ve tasted. It kind of smelled like the same kind of Mexican cookie. We had to hold the cookie by a corner and dip the cookie in the tea on the opposite corner.

We just ate the fortune cookies normally. We cracked in half, took out the fortune and ate the cookie. My fortune said: If life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

Mr. Crosby was taking pictures of us drinking tea or eating the fortune cookies and biscuits.

The reason you shouldn’t have a map of where you live is because a stranger can see it and know where you live and they could Google your address and find out more about you. They could also see you walking home from school and do something to you. If they know what time you come out of school they know what time to wait for you by your house.

Why shouldn't you have an inappropriate picture of you on the internet? You shouldn’t have an inappropriate picture on the internet because a stranger may get attracted and want to find out more about you. They may also do wrong things with the picture.

You should not tell strangers online where you hang out. They can go there and try to kidnap you. They may also pretend they are a kid hanging out and try to meet you there alone.

I think war should come to an end. War should stop because there are a lot of innocent people in Iraq passing through violence and getting killed. I also think that war should stop because there are some people in the US worrying about weather or not one of their family members are coming back or never coming back. Another reason war should end is because there are some of our soldiers getting injured or even killed when they wanted to go back with their families. There are some soldiers that the people that are in charge of the war promise them things that don’t really come true. They are wasting a lot of money on war instead of on things that really matter to a lot of people. So please make war come to an end.

There are also hundreds of people losing their jobs because of the bad economy. Everyday there are people losing there houses because of the economy. Skyping Mr. Mayo's Class

Today we video conferenced with Mr. Mayo's class in Maryland. At first we couldn’t see them at all and they had to restart their computer but it still didn’t work. Then they tried to fix something on their camera. Then after a few minutes we could see them.

The call kept dropping but some students got to share. We read our vignette which is kind of like a short story. Our vignettes were about being safe online. I think we did pretty well.

We listened to the kids in Mr. Mayo's class share their questions and comments. They also told us who their blog buddies were but I didn’t hear anyone say my name, but not all of them got to share.

We didn’t last a long time because the call kept on dropping. So after a while the call dropped again but Mr. Crosby used his wireless card. We got back on but since they have periods they had to move on to their next class. So we just said goodbye and clicked.

My Mom The Frog is about a boy named Jason who believes a myth that his sister told him about if you kiss a wart you turn into a frog. He thinks his mom has turned into a frog for kissing his wart. So his goal is to kiss his mom the frog. It doesn't turn out how he wanted it to. He tried to catch the frog but he can’t. Suddenly his sister comes and catches it. When he is about to kiss the frog his dad comes and prevents it. So instead of kissing it he blows a kiss to it. Then his mom appears.

Skyping Alan In Iceland

Yesterday 11-25-08 we Skyped a guy in Iceland. He was taking care of a house for a lady because she was on vacation.

He said there are not many people living there. He also explained how the house he was staying at is in the middle of no where. He continued and explained how he had to drive about 30 minutes to get to the grocery store.

The house has a Jacuzzi outside. There is also a dog in the house (which he showed us.)

He told us that money there is called Krohners. Some Krohners have sharks, some have fish and he also showed us through the web cam a paper Krohner. It had a person on it dressed kind of funny. He also added that money is not worth a lot there.

He explained how they speak Icelandic. He taught us some words like takk, takk means thank you, skal means cheers, and gull means gold.

He also said the climate there is from 32 to 40 ˚F. He also explained how when it’s summer it’s always day and when it’s winter it’s almost always dark.

My teacher explained to us about Iceland being closer to the North Pole than to the equator.

When we were ready to get off of Skype he finished with a “Bye” and we waved back to him.

Today January, 9, 2009 one of my classmate’s brother came to visit. He is a student at the University of Nevada Reno. His name is Juan. Juan talked to us about his school experience.

Juan was Mr. Crosby’s former student. We even saw a video he made when he was in Mr. Crosby’s class. He explained how when he was in Mr. Crosby's class he always got c’s. He said that he tried harder every year and brought his grades up.

He said he was studying to be a pediatrician. He has a lot of classes in biology because he likes doing research. He plans on going to collage for eight years for medical school. He said he takes chemistry, English, fine arts, math and biology. He also said he paid 450 dollars for books.

Mr. Crosby asked him if he ever dissected anything in high school. Juan said he dissected a cricket.

He explained why his freshmen year was difficult. He said he didn’t know what to expect his freshmen year. He said he had eight classes.

He gave us good advice. He said to not do our homework at the last minute. He also told us how asking questions in class was the best thing to do when you don’t understand something.

Wolf Pack Basketball Players

Kayla and Cherlanda both play for the Wolf Pack girls basket ball team. They came to visit our class on January, 9, 2009.

They said that when you play on the basketball team you have to be in shape. So you have to run, drink lots of water, eat healthy and lift weights.

They have lost 7 games and won 8. They also said they practice twice a day and when they practice they get home at 10:00. One day before they play they watch a film of the team their going to play to see their weaknesses.

CHERLANDA

Cherlanda started and said that she had already finished college. We asked her how long she had been in college. She told us she had been in college for about four years.

She told us she started playing basketball when she was 11 years old. She said she plays forward. Cherlanda explained all the sports she had played. She told us she played volleyball and she was a cheerleader.

Cherlanda also said she is 5’ 10. Mr. Crosby also asked if she had ever broken a bone. Cherlanda responded and said most of the times she had broken a nee. She said that when she brakes a bone she can’t play for a long time.

KAYLA

Kayla is a freshmen and plays forward. She is 6 feet tall.

We asked her if she ever played in another team. The only thing I remember her saying about that is that she played at Reed.

She also said that her dad is a coach at a different school.

I have been blogging for 3 years. Next year I’m moving out of Mr. Crosby's class so I don’t think I’m going to be blogging anymore. The thing that I’m going to miss the most about blogging is reading blogs and leaving comments. I enjoy doing that because I can tell people the experiences that have happened to me that have been the same or similar. When something exciting happens I just feel like telling whoever, so I just post it on my blog and receive comments. Most people think schools shouldn’t be able to blog because we don’t learn anything. But we really do learn something. When you leave comments you double check the comment and we learn to check our story’s better and better everytime we do it. We also learn to read better because when we read posts we get better. The thing I wish I could do more often is comment on blogs. I just think commenting on blogs is fun. I think the hardest thing about blogging is correcting mistakes, I just don’t catch all the mistakes which makes it really hard for me.

The AMAZING thing about Kangaroos is that they are the national symbol of Australia. Often when people think of Australia they think of Kangaroos. The Red Kangaroo is about 6 ft 7 inches tall. The Red Kangaroo is about 13 to 16 mph. The Antilopine Kangaroo lives in the grassy plains and woodlands. Kangaroos have grown special teeth. Their teeth is able to crop grass very close to the ground and it’s molars grind the grass. But the FANTASTIC think about Kangaroos is that they are the national symbol of Australia.

Today we skyped a class in New Zealand. We sang Home Means Nevada to them. Then they sang a song to us. They play sports like soccer and rugby. We asked them what kind of food they liked and a boy said Chook which is chicken. We asked them what music they liked and they said Green Day. Luis showed them his skateboard and they thought that was pretty cool. Their school is 1st through 6th grade.

Today March, 17, 2009 we skyped Argentina. They are a 5th grade class in Buenos Aires. When we started skyping the first group did their presentation. We were next. So we did our presentaion. After everyone did their presentation we sang the Home Means Nevada song. Then we asked them questions like what kind of food do they like. They all screamed PIZZA. Then we asked them what the weather was like there. They told us it was hot and sunny. We also asked them what sports they played. They all screamed SOCCER. They told us they all speak Spanish and German, 12 speak English.

      The marvelous thing about Pluto is that it is smaller than Earth’s moon. Pluto can be closer to the Sun than Neptune because of it’s elliptical orbit. Pluto was discovered in the 1930’s by Clyde W. Tombaugh in Arizona. Pluto was named after the Roman god of the underworld. An accurate measurement is 2,400 km across. Pluto is mainly ice, it most likely has a small rocky core which might have some kind of metals. The icy surface contains frozen nitrogen, methane and carbon monoxide. Pluto is very cold, the temperature changes from -387 to -369 F˚. The marvelous thing about Pluto is that it is smaller than Earth’s moon.

I'm in 7th grade now and I have new teachers new friends, and new classes. I liked the homework I used to have. The homework is a little harder in middle school but I can handle it. I miss all the teachers from my other school. Well that's all for now. Hope my teacher has great students!
