Fishing

Article posted September 29, 2005 at 04:37 PM GMT0 • Reads 52

I like to fish a lot, ever since I was little and caught my first fish, the bass. I have many adventures every time I fish, for instance, one day I reeled in a 6lb. catfish out of Erfert Park, he was gigantic! Then, later in the month my friend,Josh, caught a 15lb. carp out of the same place. I use an Eagle Claw reel and rod combo with 12lb. test line on the reel to catch all of my monster fish. I also use a Zebco 202 reel and rod with 10lb. test line and a giant slip bobber to allow me to cast out in the middle of Erfert Park where all the catfish hide out. My birthday present this year from my friend, Josh was a Shimano baitcast reel with a Shimano 6'6 rod, which is what the pros use. I enjoy fishing very much and will continue to fish for the rest of my life. Fishing is one of the greatest passions I have, maybe with these words I will inspire someone else to start fishing too.

Hockey

Article posted November 22, 2005 at 09:12 PM GMT0 • Reads 62

I have played ice hockey since I was six years old. It is a great activity to enroll in, the fast-paced action keeps me motivated to score. I play center and am an assistant captain of my team. I love to take wrist shots or slapshots from the blue line because they confuse the goalie all the time. In my hockey league the pads required are: a helmet, neckguard, mouthguard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, stick, gloves, pants, chin guards, skates,a sto socks, and a jersey that is synchronized with the rest of your team.

The type of stick I use is a Easton Ultra Carbon, with a blade that has a very nice curve to it. The more the curve the more velocity you get on either your slapshot, or wristshot. I would advise anyone to play hockey because of the fast-paced action. If someone is either checking someone or on a breakaway, the game is great! My motto is, because it is my responsibility to raise my team's spirit is to "Never give up because miracles happen!"
