Well my name is Shelby and the group of our kapahaka name is Te Kura Takawaenga o Marawatea.
In Kapahaka you have a female leader and a male leader.I am the female kaea(leader), and Hori is the Male Kaea(leader). Some people think being a Leader for the group is easy but its not.you have to do a lot of things to keep your group together.
Today i am talking to who ever is reading this about kapahaka and what it means.Iam doing kapahaka not only because it was compolsury for our class but because i love it.
it had been past on to me from our ancestors. it is a strong feeling for me to do kapahaka.
in our program are maori songs and in the traditional order.
waiata tira(choral
whakaeke(entrance
waiata koroua(sad song and really old
waiata a ringa(action song
poi(subject only for girls in these days
haka(is a chant for boys to protect the girls
and last but not least the
Whakawatea( which is the exit and is time to get off stage.
Well now its time to leave you and let you read my story about kapahaka.

MY GOALS THIS TERM ARE
my goal for me to achieve is to do my work and try not to get disturbed by my neighbor.
my other goal is to listen and pay attention all times.
also show respect to not only adults but my friends also.
this time i have to try and not get a detention. Also follow the school rules.
The last 1 is tryand get my spelling up to scratch.
the only way i am going to do this is if i listen and do everything i am told the first time and so i don't have to do it again, and again.
