Being Included And Happy

By Karla

Being included has a lot to do with being happy. One time in second grade there was a girl that was not included by people not letting her play games and calling her names. Then she was included all the time. Sometimes little kids’ sisters or brothers have friends over and the little kids want to be included all the time. I used to do that all the time. People always want to be included all the time to be happy.

THE FIRST DAY CELEST CAME

by Karla

The first time we used Skype in class after lunch. I felt exited, happy and glad because that that we brought Celest into our class room. Because she can’t come to school because Celest has leukemia so if she came and somebody was sick and they got her sick she would get even sicker. This was Mr.Crosby’s idea. We contacted people that might help. And also contacted Celest’s family to see if it was okay. The first time we did was at 1/24/07 12:35. The things we used for this to work we used Web cam, computer, Internet, Skype and a modem also a phone line at Celest house. I thought it was cool. She can see and hear us and we can see and hear. It was really awesome.

The Day Grace Corrigan Came

Today was like when we got interviewed by Youth

Bridges about Celest. Celest is a student in our class who has leukemia and we see her from Skype. This was special because it was about Christa McAuliffe (teacher in space). She was in the the Challenger Space Shuttle. Christa McAuliffe’s mom came to our class. Grace Corrigan wanted us to call her Mrs. Corrigan. This was even Skyped too. Skype is when you can talk and listen to people over the internet. We all asked Grace questions. She showed us pictures of Christa and she gave us one and signed it and also even gave Mr. Crosby pens from NASA. Mrs. Corrigan also showed us some badges. She showed us a video about Christa McAuliffe. We took pictures with Grace. She was the nicest lady I meant Everyone including me asked Mrs. Corrigan questions and she answered them. THE END!!!!

When The Camera Crew Came

Karla

On Monday October 15, 2007, a camera crew came. The reason the camera crew came was because they wanted to record us using Skype, our laptops, learning about Google Earth and reading. What they recorded is going to be a movie. Skype allows you to see people across the world or at home and you can hear them over a computer. Google Earth is when you see the whole Earth on the internet. Mr. Crosby zoomed in to Reno, Nevada, and put the little arrow right on top our classroom. The people that came to record this were three men and two women. The equipment they had was a video camera, microphone, sound stuff, bright lights, a tripod and more. They were interviewing people about Skype and Celest. They interviewed Celest, Mr. Crosby and four other people. Celest was at home and we were at school using Skype. Celest is the student in our class that has leukemia (cancer). The camera crew was also directing. The thing that interested me the most was how they used the camera with all those buttons. And that’s what happened at our class.

My Halloween Night!!

Karla

I always celebrate Halloween because it is very cool, exciting, I love candy, it is fun to dress up and it is scary. I dressed up as something, can you guess what I dressed up as? My costume was like a cop but not exactly. It was a skirt, belt, hat and a glove. The colors were black and camouflage. I went trick-or-treating to a lot of houses so I got a lot of candy. I also gave out some candy, and when I left my mom, aunt and other family gave out candy. My Halloween fantastic was I had so much fun. I went trick-or-treating with my big brother, my brothers girl friend, my little cousin and my brothers baby which is my nephew. What was special about Halloween was going trick-or-treating in Spanish Springs, Greenbre Drive Houses, and by Read High School I also enjoyed seeing deer on the mountains, getting candy and spending time with my family. I was really excited about Halloween because last year I had a lot of fun and I had to wait ONE WHOLE YEAR for all that great, delicious candy for a year=http:// And that’s how I spent my Halloween.

Christmas

Karla

This Christmas I am hoping to get one of these three things a ipod, Xbox 360 and a Nintendo Wii. I have always wanted one of those since they came out. My cousin has a Xbox 360 and my other cousin has a ipod nano. My mom said if she gets me the Wii or the Xbox 360 I have to share with my older sister, which I don’t want to because I want it for my self. For Christmas I would also want clothes, shoes and a cell phone. On Christmas my grandma makes some delicious tamales, ponches and we buy pie. Ponches is like tea but it has sweet peaches, sweet apples and other good stuff. We celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve day. My whole family goes to my grandma’s house. We start opening presents at 12:00am. My cousins and I eat, play and try to guess what our presents are before we open our presents. We also take a lot of pictures. And that’s how my Christmas’s are all the time. THE END=http://!

Our Thanksgiving Feast

Karla

Yesterday on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, we had a Thanksgiving class feast. What we had to eat was turkey, cod, salmon, venison (deer), duck, bread, green beans, corn, pumpkin pie, cranberries, ginger ale to drink, raspberries and blackberries. What I ate the most was pumpkin pie, corn, turkey, cod and ginger ale. We still had some food left so Mr. Crosby put it in the fridge. We are going to eat it the next day just like the Pilgrims had food left and ate it the next day. When we got to school we saw Mr. Crosby was barbecuing the turkey outside and we were able to smell that delicious smell. When the turkey was in the barbecue we went out to take a picture around it. Then we took another picture with the food we brought. The turkey and pumpkin was very delicious. Mr. Crosby put spices on the turkey. Before we ate we watched two movies. One of them was about Pilgrims and Indians. The other one was about people doing performances of doing flips in the air, balancing and flexing. What I didn’t eat that much of was deer, green beans and berries. That was we did for Thanksgiving.

The Day Our Class Got Broken Into

by Karla

One morning when I got to school Mr. Crosby told us that someone broke into our class and I saw the window glass on the floor. Has anything like this happened to you? The broken glass looks like broken ice and the side of the glass looks like marbles. On the window it was all cracked and missing pieces of glass. The glass was triangle shaped and it looked like little mountains. I feel mad and sad that they BROKEN INTO OUR CLASSROOM. I am glad they did not take anything like our laptops. All they took was one cord that cost Mr. Crosby like two dollars for his camera and I think they took other little stuff. There was two other classrooms that got broke into. If I saw this first I would be asking myself what happened and be looking for a teacher. Mr. Crosby showed us pictures of the glass, also a picture that I saw was the rock surrounded by glass and the rock was so huge. How I found out was Mr. Crosby told us, I saw the window broken and because I also saw Bob putting the new window on.

My Own Creations

Karla

Do you ever want to do something like this? The kind of thing I have always wanted to do is just by putting on my backpack and I could fly with the birds. The reason I want to do that is because I have been watching the birds fly and it looks like fun. When you put on the backpack you could get around places easier by flying than going on the freeway in the traffic. Also I would like to make time fast and slow. My reasons for the making time fast or slow is because when it’s almost Christmas I could make it Christmas already by making the time faster and when I have to go somewhere I can make the time slower. Now wouldn’t that be cool if you could make your own powers like that? And those are some of the powers I would want, there is more powers I would want.

About The Maniac Magee Story

Karla

Maniac Magee is a boy that my class read about in a book. Maniac is a very pleasing kid that gets along with everyone. But the thing is that Maniac’s parents died. Maniac Magee is a local celebrity. He is a local celebrity because he untied Cobble’s Knot, ran on railroad tracks, entered Mr. Finsterwald’s backyard and other amazing feats. Maniac Magee would get along with anyone even though he is white he would not care what peoples skin color was. Maniac taught me how to be a better friend. For example people are mean to Maniac and he is usually nice but he can be mean back. Maniac also taught me how to get friends by talking to them, make nice comment them, and be nice in other ways. Those ideas can help me when I want a friend on the first day of school and at other times. Maniac met a lot of people that were so kind and let him stay at their homes sense he was homeless. He lived with his aunt and uncle but he ran away. He would respect everyone's homes. In the story there is a house that was so dirty but would still respect it. In the story there is a boy that at first he hated Maniac and Maniac would be nice back then at the end the kid, Mars Bar, kind of liked him. And that’s what Maniac taught me. Doesn't Maniac sound like a pleasing kid?

When I Played In The Snow

Karla

One snowy day I made a snowman at school with my friends. First we made three snowballs one small one for the head, one medium for the middle part and a big one for the very bottom part. We made the snowballs by making a small one and then we rolled them on the ground were there is snow. After we patted the snow balls were it needs to be round. I almost slipped when we were rolling the big snowball and my friends giggled. The snow looked like a big cotton white blanket. The snow felt like cold, soft, shredded ice and cotton. I got cold from touching the snow and my hands got red and num. Another time at my house I had a snowball fight with my brother and friend. Every single time I threw a snowball at my brother he would catch the ball and throw it back. He got me a couple of times on my face. I always got my friend most of the time. Those are two of the things Iv done with the snow.

My Visit To Lake Tahoe With My Cousin

Karla

One morning I heard the phone ring and I answered it. It was my cousin and he asked me “do you want to go to Lake Tahoe?” I said yes because I love the lake.

So I got my swimming stuff into my backpack.

I heard the phone ring again and it was my aunt and they were outside. So I quickly got my backpack, ran out the door and ran like if a beehive of bees’ were chasing me.

Then we to Lake Tahoe and first we ate delicious food when we got there.

My cousin and I ran into the lake and it was very cold but then we got used to it.

We threw stuff in the water and how far they went we had to go and get them.

Soon it was time to go and I didn’t really want to go. I threw up in the car on our way home.

Finally we were at our houses!!!!

Those are the relatives I was with.

How To Fix Mistakes

Have you ever made mistakes and never knew why you could not catch them? Well let me tell you how my class was taught to find mistakes. We use spell check to fix our mispelling. When we are done we first print out and then reread. We read it out loud so we can hear our self to catch the mistakes and so our ears can “see” the errors. We also use our finger to go along when we are reading. Then we use the Thesaurus to get better words. For example like the word nice I could turn it into a better word that means the same thing like the word pleasing. After we look for places we need punctuation errors and correct English sentences. We also put our fingers on names to make sure we capitalized them. We even double space it so it is easier to read. And finally you just reread it again to your self for any other mistakes. So that’s how we correct our mistakes.

Bad News For Us

Have you ever felt upset for something like this? Well let me tell you how I feel about not blogging any more. I would feel bad about not blogging because I like blogging and because blogging taught my class how to edit our post. I would also be mad because it is cool and we get to meet other people when we comment them. What we learn about this is how to fix our mistakes on our stories. Since I’ve been blogging I have got better in reading books and editing my blog post. Students should blog because it teaches how to write stories, put it in beginning middle and end, rereading it, finding correct English, finding mistakes and how to type faster. I am doing this because our school district blocked our blogging. Blogging is very cool for me!!!

When I Cracked My Head

Karla

Has anything like this bad happened to you? Well let me tell you what happened to me. One day my parents went to work and my dad dropped me off at my cousin’s house. So I ate there and then watched television. Then my cousin and I went to go ride bikes and we played tag. After we went to their backyard. We went to the swing set and when I sat on the swing... boom!!!! My cousin just told me then that the swing set was broken. I felt something dripping on my head and it was BLOOD!!! I freaked out like crazy. A sharp piece had stabbed my head. I went to the door and my aunt was in SHOCK. She asked “what happened.” She cleaned me up even though I still had blood on my cloths. My mom picked me up and she asked me what happened? I said at the swing set a piece of metal fell on my head and I started bleeding. She wanted to clean it with the alcohol stuff but I did not let her. But don’t worry that was when I was about six years old.

Learning About Space

Have you ever wondered things about space? Well we just learned about space and I am going to tell you about it. First I am going to tell you about light. Light is the fastest thing of anything we know. The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second (MPS) not miles per hour (MPH). Light can go around the whole Earth seven times in one second. Alpha Centauri is the closest star to Earth after the Sun. It would take 158,500 years to reach Alpha Centuri in a rocket traveling 18,000 miles per hour. The sun is a star and stars are a ball of burning gas. Sun’s light leaves the sun at 186,000 MPS. Pluto is not considered a planet anymore. The sun is so much bigger than Pluto. It is like a basketball compared to a BB. I like learning about space because it is very interesting and I get to learn about space even more.

The Amazing Lunar Eclipse

Has an lunar eclipse been around your area because one has around mine? Well let me tell you about it. One day Mr. Crosby said there would be a lunar eclipse, I was excited. So when I went home I told my cousin we were going to be watching it tomorrow. She asked me what is a lunar eclipse. I told her you will see. Finally it was the day of the lunar eclipse. That night I went outside with my cousin a couple of times. I could not even see the moon because the clouds were blocking it. Twenty minuets later I went out with my aunt and my grandma. We saw the moon. The sky color was grayish- redish. The moon was red on top, shadow gray on the middle and white on the bottom. I went outside like ten times to see the moon. My sister wanted to see the moon but she was to busy sleeping, even though I tried waking her up. It was freezing cold outside. I herd airplanes in the sky and dogs barking. I saw one star by the moon. Around the moon was dark blue with a bright light. That’s what happened on the lunar eclipse for me.

My Strange Bird Friend

I was walking home one day when I saw a bird off in the distance flying in my direction. As it got closer I noticed it didn’t look like any bird I had never seen. It kept flying towards me and to my amazement it zoomed right up to me and landed softly on my shoulder. I wasn’t sure what to do. I thought it was cool, but it also made me very nervous. Then it bent it’s neck to look me straight in the eye and suddenly it attacked me. I tried to runaway but it was following me. All of the sudden I felt my shirt wet. I was like oh no , I hope it didn’t pee on me!!! But it was pee, I screamed. so I went home and my parents asked me what happened. I also had blood on my face and my shirt. I told them I got attacked by a strange bird. I went to go clean my self up and changed. I looked out the window and there was the bird again. It followed me!!!! Then my mom and I went to the store. After she sent me out to get her wallet. Suddenly the bird swooped down and scratched me on my face. The bird wanted me to do something but I didn’t know what. It was so mad because I ignore him. But then I got to the car and it stood on the front of the car and starts dancing. Nobody else could see him except me. The bird was amazing but weird at the same time it was the freakiest thing. But I got out of the car and started dancing but no one noticed then we did a dance move together and had a good time. then my mom came and I went home so I told the bird to go to my house. So it came and we danced some more and danced until morning. Then the bird left so that was a good time with the bird. then the next day that I walked outside to find him I didn’t find him I went to the park to find him and he was dead. So I had a little moment of peace and I prayed. THE END!!!!

Our Special Trip

We had just sat down on the school bus that was taking us on our field trip when the bus driver stood up, turned around and in a loud voice said, “ We are not going on the trip you thought we were. Your class has won a trip to a very special place.” The next thing we knew some kind of gas started to spray from the ceiling and we all fell asleep in our seats. When we woke up hours later we found out we had been taken to Disneyland in Florida, we were all very excited. A couple minuets later the bus driver had excused us to get out and get our pass to get in. Then we got it and we were deciding on what ride to go on first. We wanted to go on the big roller coaster that splashed water because it was hot, Splash Mountain. And we even went on many rides like go-cars, teapot that spins, bungee jumping and we even saw Mickey Mouse. I could not believe we got to go there. I even took a picture of Miney Mouse and all the other people that are Mickey Mouse’s friends. I also got to eat really good food. But what I really like was that we got to be there the whole day in Disneyland in Florida for free. I also got to ride a ride called Pirates of the Caribbean. The ride is so fun that was so fun everybody went on it three times. We went back to the hotel and had dinner everyone had ice cream, cookies and a little bit of fudge. Then the bus driver annouced it’s time to go. Everyone was sad, including me. Finally we we got in the bus and the wierd gas sprayed again. We all fell asleep again!!!! I woke up at home!!!! My Favorite Holidays’

Karla

What are your favorite holidays? My favorite holidays are Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Easter and 4th of July. I like Christmas because I get to spend time with my family, get to eat delicious food and kind of because the presents. I also like Thanksgiving because we eat sweet potatoes, smashed potatoes with gravy, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple pie, corn, turkey, ham, bread and because I also get to spend time with my family. All that food is delicious. I like Halloween because we get free candy, get to go to houses and it’s cool to see the houses designed. I love candy too. I like Easter because we get to paint eggs, hunt for eggs, spend time with my family and eat the jelly beans in the fake plastic eggs. And the last holiday I like is Forth Of July because I go downtown with my family and watch fireworks. There you go, those are my favorite holidays.

How To Be Safe On The Internet

=)

PICTURES ON THE INTERNET

Hello my name is Karla and I will be telling you how to be safe on the internet. First I will be telling you about not to have pictures on your page such as Myspace, Face book, Bebo and others. Having pictures on the internet is dangerous and stupid at the same time because people you do not know can look for you in the streets because they want to kidnap you. It would be easier to find you because they already know how you look from the pictures.

ADDRESS

It’s bad to have your address on the internet because people like strangers can kidnap you or break-into your house. If someone gets mad at you and they know you have valuables that you really care about they go and tell people to break-into your house because you have good things. People can even find out where you live because you put your address and every one sees it.

PUBLIC PROFILE

If you have a profile on the internet you don’t want it public for everyone to see only your friends. The reason is because bad people can find out information about you and use. Kidnapers can find your address on your profile and go and kidnap you.

DEAR, SENATOR OBAMA AND McCain!

Article posted October 13, 2008 at 06:48 PM GMT0 • Reads 116

Dear, Senator Obama and Senator McCain

Which ever one of you wins as president you should let more immigrants enter the United States of America. The reason is because I don’t like it when the immigration people separate families and they are very, very sad. That is one of my issues and I hope one of you can do that.

One of my other issues is that we need to pay workers more and lower prices. Prices keep getting higher and how can we ever pay it? Please lower prices and pay workers more.

One of my concerns is that we need medical insurance because people don’t have it and they are very sick and can die. Also we need to stop the Iraq war because we are wasting so much money on that we need it here in the United States of America. Innocent people are getting shot at because of the war.

From,

Karla

Skypeing With Maryland!

We Skyped with Maryland because we wanted to share how to be safe on the internet. We couldn’t see them but they were able to see us. We kept trying and trying to fix it and then we were able to see them.

My group talked about not to put inappropriate pictures on the internet. We learned about the clas we were Skypeing like what their names were and what was there favorite sports and teams. We told them our names and what are our favorite sports and teams too.

Then they had to go and said we will finish on Monday. My group finished and two other groups did too. Three groups did not finish so they are going to finish on Monday. We said ok and said bye!

It was very fun and very exciting because that was our first time Skypeing this year. After we had to brainstorm what happened. Then we had to write a post and I did this one.

My Trip To Scheels!

My Trip To Scheels

Karla

One Sunday afternoon my mom told me that were going to go to Scheels. I got very excited because I heard it is impressive and it is the biggest sports store in Reno. I even heard that the store had a ferris wheel, so I wanted to go right away after my mom said we were going.

Then after we left I felt so excited because that was my first time going. When we were looking around the store we saw so many people that we couldn’t even find a parking spot. We finally found a parking spot and it was really far from the store. We finally got inside!!!

It was so huge! It was as big as the mall. The store was two stories tall. When you barely get into the store you walk under a fish tank full of fishes and water and plants. I was very amazed!! I saw the ferris wheel and it was big.

I asked my mom if I could go on it and she told me to look at the line. I changed my mind because the line was so long. It was so long that I got tired just from looking at it.

We went to the section where they had basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, tennis balls, handballs and way more. I played with the soccer ball and the basketball. I had lots of fun in that section.

Then we went to the gun section and there were so many different cool guns. I tried to pick up a shotgun but it was to heavy for me. I really had never seen a gun before, only handguns. I was amazed to see many different cool guns. Next to the gun section there were knives, lasers and more cool stuff.

After we went to the hunting stuff and I saw so much cool stuff. I even saw real dead animals that look like statues and they put stuff inside them so the animals won’t rot away. The animals are very, very, very amazing!!! I just loved it. They had mostly every animal I can think of. I even saw my school animal the grizzly bear in the mountain exhibit with the other animals.

We went to the boxing section. I was playing with the boxing bags and I got tired afterwards. I went to every section there was.  From walking I got SO EXHAUSTED.

After we went to go see the ferris wheel and there was still a very long line so I decided not to go on. The day I went was the very first day it had opened and that is why it was really crowded. There were people that were just pushing and pushing you out of the way.

My mom said we should go and get something to eat and that sounded like a good idea because I was starving. We left and went to eat at McDonalds and I got a yummy Big Mac. We finally went home and I took the best nap I ever have. I was so tired that I did not want to get up at all. That was my trip to Scheels!

HAVE YOU EVER GONE TO SCHEELS?

Skyping In Iceland

By Karla

Today we Skyped a guy named Alan who is in Iceland because he is visiting for a month. We asked him a few questions and he answered. I had asked, “What is the climate over in Iceland?” I forgot what he had answered though.

The Skype worked very well that day, everything was right. Where he is visiting no one really lives by him. Alan lived in the middle of no where really. He showed us a dog over Skype and we all liked it. We Skyped for like an hour.

It is not as cold as we thought because the water around Iceland is not very cold and that is what really keeps it warm.  A big volcano erupted and it was going to destroy Iceland but it did not destroy it because people had poured cold water by the bottom of the volcano to make the magma harden to stop it from going onto Iceland.

They call their money “Kroner” and their money is more colorful then ours. 5,000 kroners is $50.00 here.

Alan said, he does not really understand the language. They have a language that they call “Icelandic.” “Takk” means “thank you” in Icelandic language. Also “Skal” means like “cheers.”

Alan is going to visit our class and talk more about this in two weeks. We got excited because Alan was going to come and talk to us about Iceland and climate. We had a great time with him over Skype and we also will when he comes I hope. I am glad we met him because he is a nice guy.

Me Turning Into A Reindeer

By:Karla

One day I went Christmas shopping one day before Christmas Eve and we were there all day. I was tired the whole time. I was with my Mom and my Sister. When we got home it was almost ten o’clock. I went to sleep because I was EXHAUSTED!

I had a dream that I went to a store to take a picture with Santa Claus. Then when I was leaving one of his elves came towards me and he told me that Santa would like to ask me something. The elf had grabbed my hand and led me towards where I had my picture taken.

I had saw Santa standing like he was waiting for something. He asked me what my name was, I answered “Karla” nervously. He explained to me that tomorrow night he has to deliver gifts and one of his reindeers has been hurt and could not go to pull the sleigh. Then he asked me if I can take his spot. I said “Sure why not.” But I asked him “How will I be a reindeer?” He said he will turn me into one with his magic. I said that was so awesome.

Then he said he will send one of the elves to go pick me up and take me to the North Pole. I said “COOOOOL=http://!” Just then I woke up in the morning and it was 10:00. My mom told me to get dressed up because we are going to go somewhere to take  pictures with Santa so I did. I was done getting ready. Everything happened like what had happened in my dream so far. We went to the same place where I was in my dream.

When we got there I saw the same Santa that sent a elf to go ask me a question. There was not a long line to take the picture with Santa. Soon it was my turn to take the picture. I was nervous for some reason even though there was no reason. He looked at me a very interesting way. Then I sat on his lap and took a picture. Then my Mom and my sister went to go look in a store that I do not really like. So I waited outside of the store.

Then a little elf came to me... I was frightened. It all kind of happened like in my dream! He told me that Santa would like to see me. So he lead me to him. He explained that his reindeer named Prancer was hurt really bad and he needed a reindeer to have eight total. He could not just have seven reindeers to fly him. Then he asked me the same question that he asked me in my dream. The question was that if he can change me into a reindeer just for that night? I replied “Sure why not!” He said great! Then he said that he will send two elves to pick me up at my house and take me back to the North Pole. I was so excited! He said that the elves will pick me up around seven-thirty. I said ok.

We got home and I took a nap because I was still very tired from the day we went shopping. When I woke up it was like six-thirty. So I ate some dinner that I love eating. It’s one of my favorite foods. Everyone in my house was sleeping. I watched a movie called The Polar Express. I love that movie. Just then I heard a little knock on the door. I went to go open it and it was two little elves. I quickly grabbed my coat. I saw the sleigh they came with only 4 reindeers. I had the butterflies in my stomach. I sat down and I heard Christmas songs on the radio. I heard Jingle Bells and Santas’ Coming To Town. I liked those two songs. Then we flew up into the cold sky when it was snowing. The sky was all white and cloudy. It felt like a ride I rode in Disneyland!

Soon we the three of us got to the North Pole. We went into the toy room. It was so big! I could not believe my eyes I seen  the elves all singing Christmas songs so Joyfully. I thought it was so cute. The elves were all so short as a rabbit. I seen Santa Claus and he came up to me and said in like two hours we will all leave. I got nervous.

Then all the elves quickly shifted and fed the reindeers and brushed them. Santa got into his suit. Mrs. Claus asked me if I would like some hot chocolate and cookie and I replied “Sure” nervously. There was only one hour and a half left ‘til we have to go. I sat down and ate my DELICIOUS hot chocolate and cookies.

As soon as I was done Mr. Claus called me into a room where there were the reindeers. I knew what he was going to do. He had this magic glitter. He asked me are you ready I’m going to make you into a reindeer now. I was shocked. Then I just stood there and he poured that glitter stuff on me and then the reindeers started shaking their bells. I felt weird. Then I looked at my hands and I saw hooves. Then I felt my head and I felt antlers and then a was on the ground crawling like when I was a little baby barely learning how to crawl.

All the reindeers looked at me nicely except one gave me a mean look. Most of the elves took the reindeers and attached us to the sleigh that Santa is going to go on. We all got fed carrots and got water. Then the elves put bridles on our mouths. It felt weird to have that on my mouth. After that they packed up the toys and put them onto the sleigh and the sleigh was pretty big. There were only half an hour left ‘til we leave. The Elves brushed us and  then polished our hooves. Santa came out and went onto the sleigh. Also a elf went onto the sleigh with him.  There were only 5 minutes left!! I was so nervous! Then it was time to go. Santa told me to try my best and so did a few reindeers.

That encouraged me to do better. Soon we took off and I was scared. It felt like I was taking off from a fast plane. It was pretty fun though. When we were in the sky I looked down and I got scared because I can imagine my self falling. All I saw when I looked down was many Christmas lights on. It looked like fireworks not flashing. I loved the view so much. Soon we started to go lower and lower, and we were heading on to a roof with no chimney. As soon as we landed the roof was not flat. It was like a triangle.

All the reindeers landed perfect. Soon I landed pretty good and the reindeers said that was pretty good. Except that mean reindeer, He just did not care. Soon we all stopped and Santa grabbed his bag fool of toys and was ready to get through the chimney. The problem was that how would he get through the chimney if there was no chimney. He got the same magic glitter that turned me into a reindeer. He sprinkled some on the roof and all of the sudden a chimney appeared. It was so cool. it just popped up like a pimple would.

Santa just hopped into the chimney and I saw ashes come out of it. I heard him laughing. The elf that came along with us gave me a smile and I tried to smile back but I had the bridle on my face. Then Santa popped right back up from the chimney. And quickly jumped onto the sleigh. We started going up into the air again. I got used to it after.

We stopped at so many houses! I got so tired that I almost fell asleep. But I had to stay awake for Santa to do his job. We were almost done. When we went on this roof I almost slipped off and one of the reindeers helped me back up. That almost caused all the reindeers to fall off. Santa told me that's okay because it was my very first time doing this.

We just had a neighborhood left! We had to be done at 7. We started at 12 in midnight. I had lots and lots of fun doing this! I had always wondered how it would be being a reindeer. This has been a new experience for me. I was so exhausted, I had never been his exhausted.

Santa yelled out “MERRRYYYY CHRISTMAAASS=http://” Soon we landed on another roof and this roof was actually flat. Also this house had an chimney. I think that was our last house. I liked this house because they actually decorated with many different kinds of Xmas lights. Soon Santa came out of the chimney and hopped into the sleigh.

It got so foggy we could not see anything. Santa had a reindeer named Rudolph that had this bright nose that glowed so bright! I told Rudolph to use his nose to lead the way back to the North Pole! Santa was empressed and so were the reindeers. The reindeers thought the Rudolph was a big dummy because of his nose. We were almost to the North Pole.

Before we got to the North Pole Santa asked me if I would like to go home soon, I said sure. After we got to the North Pole. Santa got out of the sleigh and went into the his shop. As soon as the elves all saw that we were all back they all got so happy and glad that Christmas was saved. They all ran out to us and took us into where the reindeers stay. Santa went out to me and got his magic glitter and sprinkled me with it and I looked at my hooves and they were gone so I had hands. I felt my head and there were no more antlers! Then I was standing on my feet.

Santa was proud and thankful that I helped him very much. I was proud of myself too. Santa gave me a hug and gave me a present. I did not want to open it yet until I got home. Mr. Claus asked me If I would like to go home now and I replied yea I guess. Then the two same Elves that picked me up from my house came and grabbed my hand. They led me to the sleigh. I hopped in and Santa waved good bye to me and so did I. I was sad because I did not really want to leave. The two elves started the engine on the sleigh. That was cool that this sleigh had a engine.  I was so cold!

I finally got home and the elves said good bye little one. I said bye back. I wen through my window because the door was locked. I went onto my bed and opened my present. It was a Nintendo Wii!!! I was so happy. I connected it to my television so I could play it. All of the sudden my little brother walked into my room and he asked me where did I get my Wii?  I said I got it from Santa. I was so tired so I took a nap! The nap was like for two and

a half hours.

When I woke up we all opened our presents and I got many gifts. I loved all of my gifts. I saw a envelope on the table and I went to go look at it. It said my name and from Santa. What the note was really about was thank you for helping us save Christmas. That was how I spent my Christmas. THE END!

UNR Basketball Players

By Karla

Today January 9, 2009 Kayla and Cherlanda came and visited. They are from the Nevada Wolf Pack basketball! Cherlanda was 11 when she started playing basketball. The both of them are pretty tall. Cherlanda is 5“10” and Kayla is “6” feet. Cherlanda is the captain of her team. Cherlanda injured her knee cap. I also asked what was Cherlanda’s favorite basketball team and she replied Lakers. My favorite basketball team is also the Lakers! Cherlanda was born in Arizona. They both just recently came back from Montana for a game. They have played 16 games. They won nine games and lost seven. I asked the two of them, “Have you guys ever got injured badly by playing Basketball?” They both had got injured badly at least twice. I thought it was awesome to have Nevada Wolf Pack players to come and visit our class. Cherlanda and Kayla were fun. I wish they would have stayed longer. All of us had asked very good questions. They got plenty of scholarships for playing basketball and stuff. The both of them were tall and skinny. They also talked about how important school is. But I already know how important it is. They said that they can not go snow boarding because they will mess up there knees and legs. That was there visit! It was fun! Oh yea... They had a game after they visited us against New Mexico and won. My friend and I went to that game and it was so fun. The score was 61 to 57. That was so fun!

Blogging!!

I had been blogging for 3 years. I started blogging in 4th grade. What I had liked about blogging was that I like getting comments and giving comments. It’s like chatting on the on the blogs but a little different. What blogging taught me is editing and better at reading. I learned more words and got to know better english. I really just like the commenting about blogging for some reason. What I think is hard about blogging is editing my posts. I’m going to even edit this. I really enjoy meeting new people and it’s also very cool! You should try it!

                    Softball Story!

Today I watched a video that was about softball and there was a girl named Sara. She had never hit a home run and that was a goal she has been wanting to accomplish. When she hit the home run it went out past the fence. But when she ran to a base she missed and had to turn back. When she turned back she tore her knee ligaments. She had fell and people surrounded her to see what happened. No one on her team was aloud to touch her. The other team insisted to pick her up and take her to the bases she needed and made her other left foot touch those bases. If her team had helped her the umpire would have had called her out and it would have been just a single. But she actually made a home run. So many people had cried because people had actually had had character at right place, at the right time. I did not really have a reaction to it. It was a pretty cool because people had a heart to help the other team make a point to go to the championships. It did not give me any feeling really, except it was kind of sad.

The cool thing about spiders is that they are invertebrates which means that they do not have backbones. Another thing is that spiders are not insects. Many people think they are related to the insect family but they are not. They are related to the Arachnid family. Did you know that there are more than 30,000 species of spiders. Most spiders have at least six legs or eight. Spiders’s babies come from eggs which means they are oviparous. And The last thing is there is over 100 families in the spiders.

Article posted March 31, 2009 at 10:46 PM GMT0 • Reads 168

The Awesome thing about Pluto is that it is a “Dwarf planet”. If Earth was a size of a soccer ball Pluto would be a ping-pong ball. Pluto is a freezing cold planet because it is verrryyy far from the Sun. Pluto is the smallest planet in our solar system. It is a little over 2080 kilometers. Pluto is a dwarf planet that orbits far from the Sun. Pluto is about 39 times as far from the Sun as Earth is. Pluto became a dwarf planet on August 24, 2006. But the awesome thing about Pluto is that it is a “Dwarf planet”.
